The next few weeks are filled with special events for Clemson
Lodge.
On Friday night November 12, the Toccoa Lodge will be
conferring the Fellowcraft degree in our Lodge as part of our
ongoing exchange program with them. Dinner will commence
at 6 p.m. with the Lodge opening at 7 p.m. Seeing the
variations in the ritual is a rewarding experience. All
Fellowcraft and Master Masons are welcome to attend. Please
spread the word about this worthwhile experience.
On November 13 we will be raising several Brothers to the
sublime degree of a Master Mason. Breakfast will be served at
7 a.m. and the Lodge will open at 8 a.m. to confer the degree.
Our annual Ladies Night dinner will be held on November 18
at 7 p.m. in the Lodge. Dinner will be catered by Brioso and
served by the sisters of Fidelity Assembly No. 56. Valet parking
will be available. See the invitation on p. 2 for details.
The Clemson Christmas Parade will take place December 7 at
6 p.m. (Rain Date Dec. 9.) The parade starts at Bowman Field
and continues up College Ave. to Keowee Trail (Pappa Johns).
This year the Rainbow Girls that meet in our Lodge will be
sponsoring a float. Members of that Assembly, including South
Carolina’s Grand Worthy Advisor Virginia King (a member of
Fidelity Assembly #56) will ride the float supplied by RW Tom
Hayden. The float is a restored 1950 John Deere tractor and
trailer and will be decorated with banners and Christmas
lights. Please come out and support our Lodge organizations.
Dues for 2011 are now due. In these challenging economic
times we want to work with any Brother who needs assistance
in paying his dues. In 2010, through the work of many
Brothers, we were recognized by the Grand Lodge not dropping
any Brothers for non-payment of dues (NPD). Please contact us
if you need to make special arrangements for payment.
Finally, nominations are now open for 2011 offices. A
nominating committee has been appointed and will be
contacting prospects over the next few weeks. They will report
at our December communication. Elections will be held that
evening with those elected making their appointments at that
time as well. Installation is planned for that evening. Due to
scheduling conflicts we are requesting a dispensation from the
Grand Lodge to hold our December stated communication on
Friday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. Please keep an eye out for due and
timely notice of this possible change.

On October 28, Grand Master Barry A. Rickman
presented Charles Butler with his 70-year tenure pin.
The presentation took place at the Richard M. Campbell
Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson, South Carolina.

Building Committee Update
On Nov. 4 the land swap with Tiger Town Tavern was
approved. The swap will exchange land in the alley between
our buildings for land at the rear of our building. The swap is
expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The City of Clemson will be making streetscape improvements
to Earle St. The Lodge will provide our input to the city. To
facilitate that input a very rough concept of what could be
done with our new property was produced. This was done to
get an idea of what we might need from the city to make the
best use of that land.
We continue to pay down the loan for Phase 1 of our building
renovation. Please consider including a donation to the
Building Fund when you send in your 2011 dues.
