manufacture of components or assemblies, whether purchased by the supplier or of
supplier manufacture, meet the requirements and/or specifications. The supplier must
furnish copies of these reports with the initial shipment and make available subsequent
reports as found necessary by DRS IMS. For materials, such as aluminum, high alloy
steel castings, forging, etc., test reports as required for the initial shipment of materials
and subsequent shipments when there was a process change; however, a statement to
the effect that Chemical/Physical Test Reports have been submitted to DRS IMS with the
initial shipment must be noted on the applicable shipping document and certification
referencing the applicable Chemical/Physical Report previously submitted.
C3PA401 - Verification of Purchased Product: During the performance of this order, DRS
IMS, DRS IMS’ Customers, and/or a regulatory agency including an authorized
government representative reserve the right to attend, review, verify and participate in
the Supplier’s Quality Systems and associated manufacturing processes including
inspection and testing of any work related to this contract. This activity must be
performed in such a manner to not disrupt normal processing and shall be conducted on
a non-interference basis. The customer may provide an assessment of requirements
and processes related to the performance of this contract. DRS IMS’ shall be afforded
the right to verify at the suppliers premises (or supplier’s subcontractor’s premises) that
the supplier’s product (or supplier’s subcontracted product) conforms to all specified
requirements. Any DRS IMS’ customer shall be afforded the same right.
C3PA402 - Supplier Identification: Supplier shall mark all deliverable products and
documents. The Supplier shall apply the actual date of manufacture/assembly (or date
code) to all deliverable hardware. Information must be applied adjacent to the
hardware’s identification markings and must be traceable to Supplier’s build
documentation. Hardware produced in lots, batches, groups, etc. shall have respective
traceable control information applied. When size of hardware does not permit
application to individuals deliverables, the information shall be similarly placed on bags,
tags or labels as applicable. Examples of traceable information include, but, are not
limited to: Date of manufacture, Serial Number, Lot Number, Control Number, Final
Inspection Sequence Date, Batch Number, Work Order Number, etc.
C3PA403 - Preliminary Material Review Board (MRB) Authority: The supplier is delegated
Preliminary Material Review Board authority for hardware nonconformances. This
authority is limited to dispositions of rework to engineering requirements, return to
previous operation for reprocessing, scrap (unless material was supplied by DRS IMS),
repair to a DRS IMS approved standard repair instruction and return to Sub-tier supplier.
This authority does not extend to the use of a Material Review Board (MRB) for the
purpose of changing engineering criteria which can only be accomplished by drawing
change. This delegation of Preliminary Material Review Board authority may be
rescinded at any time by written notification from DRS IMS Quality Assurance.
