The ARTC 16th Annual Meeting
Kuala Lumpur 6-7 MARCH, 2013
Welcome
Global Technology Forum is delighted to be bringing the
ARTC 16th Annual Meeting to Kuala Lumpur in 2013. This is
unmistakably the leading event for the oil refining industry in
Asia, drawing on 15 years’ experience of delivering insightful
conferences to a truly global audience.
Trends in the global refining industry are diverging and Asia is
taking on a new leading role in demand growth for refined oil
products. While global market trends across many industries
continue their downturn Asia is heralding a new status in the
refining and petrochemicals world.
Exponential demand growth from Chinese and Indian markets
combined with increased refinery output and ambitious expansion
projects across Southeast Asia suggest many opportunities ahead
for the region.
This event will bring together senior refining and petrochemical
professionals to discuss the latest technological developments,
regulatory changes and operational challenges critical to the
downstream sector.
We hope to welcome you in Kuala Lumpur in March.
Best regards,
Eliot Morton
Last year’s event
In 2012, Global Technology Forum held the ARTC 15th Annual
Meeting in Bangkok. Delegates were treated to a series of
outstanding presentations that addressed the current challenges
facing refiners in the region from high oil price volatility to more
extreme scenarios of oil substitution: Bio fuels, CNG and plug-in
hybrid power trains.
Solomon added to the discussions with an overview of what the
‘World’s Best Refineries’ were doing to be market leaders and
how they performed against key benchmark indices. Part of their
conclusion was that the ‘World Best’ were on average making
a net cash margin of USD$2/bbl higher than the rest - 92% of it
attributed to operating more efficiently.
Leading downstream engineering firms and solution providers
gave fascinating presentations on a diverse range of topics in
the two streams throughout the conference. From improving
plant reliability through energy reduction to emissions control
and clean fuels technology…ARTC was the platform for
discussing the latest in best available technology and how
forthcoming specifications like hydrogen sulphide is shaping the
regulatory and safety environment.
