Growing Green
An updated “Public and Protected Lands” map. New easements + additional member support = good growth.
For more than twenty years, the
Tinicum Conservancy has been the
leading conservation group working to
make sure Tinicum’s natural resources
and rural character are protected. The
increasing green on this map is just one
illustration of our efforts. Our successful
track record helping to protect
more than seven square miles in Upper
Bucks is due in large part to the dedication
of volunteers and staff that
make our everyday operations and
conservation successes possible. More
than 500 Conservancy members provide
the financial resources needed for
us to take advantage of the next conservation
opportunity and ensure our
community’s long-term protection.
If you haven’t donated to the
Conservancy before, or if your membership
has lapsed, please consider
what new milestones we can reach with
your support. We receive no government
money for operations and depend
on your generous gifts. Annual
individual and family memberships at
the $50, $250, or $1,000 Friends of
Tinicum level are critical to our success.
Beyond member support, when
possible we partner with municipalities
and other conservation groups. An example
of the former is a newly conserved
75-acre farm in Bridgeton
Township, near the Tinicum border.
Held and farmed by the same family
for generations, the easement was
made possible by Bridgeton Township’s
allocation of municipal open
space grant funds. We thank the
Bridgeton supervisors for their collaboration
and support. This easement is
reflected in the newest patch of green
at the very top of this map.
