We welcome your comments, questions and suggestions. Dear Members and Friends: PRESIDENT’S CORNER Tinicum Conservancy’s new accreditation (see Page 1) is a worthy achievement, but this is not the time to rest on our laurels. We must continue to vigorously pursue new easements on currently unprotected properties throughout Tinicum. And we must, at the same time, increase our efforts to ensure proper stewardship over the many acres that have already been entrusted to our care. Since we are limited in these responsibilities only by our resources, it is more important than ever that Tinicum Conservancy marshal them wisely. Therefore, we are currently reviewing and updating all of our existing policies and operating procedures. We have moved into new space that allows us to work and to maintain proper files and documentation on existing easements in a more productive way. We are in the process of recruiting a new staff member to oversee our stewardship activities and ensure that they measure up to the best national standards. This person will also help see that these policies and procedures are consistently implemented across all the land we protect. All of this growth and development has been made possible by the commitment of our volunteers and the active support of the residents of Tinicum. As President of the Tinicum Conservancy, let me extend my thanks to all of you who have helped us to achieve our success to date. We could not have done it without you. Because we receive no funding from the Township, now, more than ever, we need your involvement, we need your contributions, we need your vocal support of conservation as the best way to preserve the quality of life that we all enjoy. Please get involved in any way possible. Please give if you can.
