“LIGHT OF HOPE FOR INDONESIA”
International Poster Exhibition
05-06
JAKARTA / YOGYAKARTA / BANDUNG / SURABAYA
Supported by :

F O R E W O R D
This is the biggest international poster
exhibition within the last 16 years in Indonesia.
It involved 66 designers from 17 countries:
Indonesia, USA, India, Japan, Malaysia,
Singapore, South Korea, The Netherlands,
Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, Iran, Germany, UK,
Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong. And it has
become more meaningful to all the designers
involved, who had dedicated all their abilities
in creating for Indonesia.
Due to all contributions to the committee,
the “Light of Hope for Indonesia” International
Poster Exhibition was accomplished
successfully in several cities in Indonesia:
Jakarta, September 7-11, 2005
Jakarta Convention Center
Yogyakarta, October 9-13, 2005
Bentara Budaya Yogyakarta
Bandung, October 19-22, 2005
Campus Center, Institut Teknologi Bandung
Surabaya, November 18-24, 2005
Universitas Kristen Petra Surabaya

Enormous enthusiasm is evident as recorded
in the total of 40,000 attendance. The biggest
number of visitors took place in Jakarta in
conjunction with FGD Expo 2005, the largest
graphic exhibition in Southeast Asia.
There are many activities that the committee
must carry on following the “Light of Hope
for Indonesia” exhibition, such as the
publication of the posters contributed by the
designers so that it will be beneficial to
Indonesia. Up to this day, we have received
many positive responses, offers that the posters
be exhibited again and requests that the
posters be used in relevant social campaigns.
The committee will try to facilitate this as the
contributing designers have warranted it.
The “Light of Hope for Indonesia” International
Poster Exhibition was also a valuable learning
experience for the committee in organizing
an international event. In the future, we hope
that the good relationship and cooperation
formed can be further developed in even larger
events.
We gratefully thank the participating designers,
to all sponsors and parties who have realized
this exhibition.
