Arc/spark oes analyzer
Uncompromising performance. Unprecedented ease of use.
Simply Easy

Material control analysis
that’s generations ahead
SPECTROMAXx
Processing plants demand advanced elemental analysis of metals, from incoming
materials to in-process testing to final inspection for outgoing quality.
Speed is a key concern. Most analyzers still require multiple samples and up to 1 hour of
calibration for each setup. To match today’s higher line speeds, processors must seek out
new analyzers that greatly reduce required samples and total measurement times.
Costs - particularly consumables costs - are also critical. An ideal analyzer features
selectable modes to minimize gas consumption when highest precision is not needed,
plus low levels of gas use at all times.
Results reliability is a final, vital criterion. Inconsistent analysis
leads to unacceptable rework or spoiled batches.
For over a decade, one instrument has delivered in every
analytical area for processors worldwide.
SPECTROMAXx ARC/SPARK OPTICAL EMISSION SPECTROMETRY (OES) ANALYZER
The new SPECTROMAXx represents the sixth generation of the popular and
successful metal analyzer. Redesigned for even greater ease of use and more
optimized analytical performance, this benchmark spectrometer provides better
productivity, traceability, and time savings than ever before. It’s the clear choice
for analytical excellence in every incoming and outgoing material control.
THE STANDARD FOR EASE OF USE
Even for less experienced personnel,
SPECTRO’s brand-new SPARK
ANALYZER Pro MAXx software takes
effortless operation to a new level.
Instead of multiple dialog boxes, a
simplified operator view presents
clear choices via dedicated toolbar
buttons. And instead of complicated
method development, new application
profiles are tailored to predetermined
user requirements.
THE BENCHMARK OF PERFORMANCE
Accurate results rely on precise calibration.
Applying more than 30 years’ experience,
SPECTRO has finely tuned accuracy over the
successive SPECTROMAXx models. We’ve
improved analytical performance again in
this sixth generation, documented via new
application reports. SPECTRO also continues
its investment in certified calibration reference
materials. Result: no analytical surprises.
LEADing IN COST OF OWNERSHIP
Reduced measurement times and a proven
argon saver “sleep” mode both reduce gas
consumption. So this new SPECTROMAXx
can deliver top of class consumables cost
savings. Additionally, advanced diagnostics
with critical status indicators make maintenance
easier and prevent expensive unplanned
downtime.

SPECTROMAXx
reliability for incoming and
outgoing material control
SPECTRO took every opportunity to improve already excellent analytical stability
in this new SPECTROMAXx. Standard samples were selected and tested. Source
parameters were studied and optimized. Both element selection and calibration
ranges were reviewed and updated. Result: reliable analytical performance that’s
precisely tuned for the incoming and outgoing material control and future demands.
ULTRA-DEPENDABLE DESIGN
An improved air circulation/
ventilation system further
preserves instrument internals
from contamination and helps
ensure reliable operation and
accuracy.
A CHOICE OF CONFIGURATIONS
SPECTROMAXx comes in several
wavelength ranges for different
analytical preferences. Additionally,
floor-mounted versions provide
ideal operator positioning (with
optional matching stand for the
instrument’s computer). Benchtop
models combine easy operation
with minimum footprint.
2. Sample Clamp
3. Excitation Unit
4. UV Optic
5. Air Optic
6. Fiber Optic Connection
SPEEDY, SIMPLE CALIBRATION
With conventional analyzers, standardization demands multiple samples per matrix
and 50+ minutes of measurement time for a three-base instrument, plus excessive
downtimes and costs. Instead, SPECTROMAXx’s proprietary iCAL calibration logic
requires just one sample, and takes only 5 minutes for total measurement. Thus iCAL
greatly increases instrument availability — and cuts total cost of ownership.
SUPERIOR SERVICE AND SUPPORT
You depend on the availability of ensured analysis to maintain the highest possible
pace of productivity. So that every SPECTROMAXx analyzer is ready when needed,
