Alison has worked for 20 years in<br />

the international development and<br />

environment sectors, specialising<br />

in climate change and clean energy.<br />

At Christian Aid she leads the policy<br />

agenda on climate change and<br />

sustainable development, supporting<br />

the organisation’s advocacy in the UK,<br />

Europe and at the United Nations.<br />

Mohamed Adow, Senior Adviser,<br />

Global Advocacy and Alliances,<br />

Christian Aid<br />

Mohamed, a Kenyan, leads Christian<br />

Aid’s global climate advocacy work.<br />

He observes the United Nations<br />

Framework Convention on Climate<br />

Change and other climate change and<br />

sustainable development negotiations,<br />

where he engages and influences<br />

governments and other stakeholders<br />

in favour of the world’s poor people<br />

and countries. Mohamed has worked<br />

in Africa for nine years, helping<br />

to improve drought management<br />

capacities, disaster risk reduction and<br />

climate adaptation. Since January<br />

2011, he has been based in London.<br />

SJS Climate Associates is an<br />

independent research consultancy<br />

specialising in the inter-linkages<br />

between poverty, environment,<br />

climate change, economics and<br />

social issues.<br />

EcoEquity is a small, activist thinktank<br />

that has had a significant<br />

impact on the international climate<br />

justice debate. It has done this<br />

primarily, but not exclusively,<br />

through the Greenhouse<br />

Development Rights project.<br />

The Pan-African Climate Justice<br />

Alliance (PACJA) fully endorses<br />

this report and will advocate for<br />

the leapfrog fund – outlined on<br />

p35 – and other recommendations<br />

presented in this report for Africa<br />
