<strong>Crochet</strong> <strong>Bea<strong>de</strong>d</strong> <strong>BEads</strong><br />

Material:<br />

<strong>Crochet</strong> hook 1.0 mm (size 12) and/or 0,75 mm (size 14)<br />

Yarn:<br />

Buttonhole-thread matching to beadcolor or<br />

<strong>Crochet</strong> Yarn No. 40 or<br />

Jean Stitch<br />

Beads:<br />

Seed beads size 11/o or 10/o (no cylin<strong>de</strong>rbeads!)<br />

woo<strong>de</strong>n bead with 15 mm diameter<br />

First string the seed beads onto thrad. You‘ll need to string 270 (string a<br />

few more) beads all together. String patterns as you like or see examples.<br />

Increasing part:<br />

<strong>Row</strong> 1: Use needle No. 12 to work<br />

five chain stitches with one bead<br />

each stitch.<br />

The cream-colored bead is ma<strong>de</strong> of<br />

japanese seed beads (Matsuno), size<br />

11/0.<br />

The two red beads are ma<strong>de</strong> with<br />

czech seed beads, you can see more<br />

of the thread.<br />

The greenish bead in the back was<br />

ma<strong>de</strong> of 10/0 beads from a german<br />

company.<br />

Slip Stitch<br />

Foundation Chain<br />

<strong>Row</strong> 2: Slip down the next 10 beads from yarn. Do two crochet stitches with beads in each of the five chain stitches.<br />

<strong>Row</strong> 3: Slip down the next 15 beads from yarn. Divi<strong>de</strong> the beads into five groups of three each. *Stitch two crochet<br />

stitches into the first appearing stitch from row before. Next stitch one crochet stitch into the next (second) stitch<br />

appearing from the row before*. Repeat ** four more times.<br />

<strong>Row</strong> 4: Slip down the next 20 beads from yarn. Divi<strong>de</strong> them into groups of four beads each. *Stitch two times crochet<br />

stitch into the first appearing stitch from row before. The next two stitches again are one-to-one*. Repeat ** 4 times<br />

more.<br />

<strong>Row</strong> 5: Slip down the next 25 beads from yarn. Divi<strong>de</strong> the beads into five groups of five beads each. *Stitch two times<br />

crochet stitch into the one stitch appearing from row before. The next three stitches are one-to-one*. Repeat four more<br />

times.<br />

<strong>Row</strong> 6: Slip down the next 30 beads from yarn. Divi<strong>de</strong> them into five groups of six beads each. *Stitch two times crochet<br />

stitch into the first appearing stitch from row before. The next four stitches are one-to-one*. Repeat ** 4 times<br />

more.<br />

<strong>Row</strong> 7-9: For each row slip down 30 beads from yarn. Work three rows one-to-one. For row 9 use a thinner hook or a<br />

stronger tension.<br />

Decreasing Part:<br />

<strong>Row</strong> 10: Slip down 25 beads from yarn. Divi<strong>de</strong> the beads into five<br />

groups of five beads each. Use the thinner hook for the following<br />

rows or crochet with stronger tension. *Skip the first appearing<br />

stitch from row before, work the next five stitches one-to-one*.<br />

Repeat ** four more times. Fill in the woo<strong>de</strong>n bead. From the<br />

next row on you must crochet around the bead.<br />

<strong>Row</strong> 11: Slip down 20 beads from yarn. Divi<strong>de</strong> the beads into five<br />

groups of four beads each. *Skip the first appearing stitch from row<br />

before, work the next four stitches one-to-one*. Repeat ** four<br />

more times.<br />

<strong>Row</strong> 12: Slip down 15 beads from yarn: Divi<strong>de</strong> the beads into five<br />

groups of three beads each. *Skip the first appearing stitch from<br />

row before, work the next three stitches one-to-one*. Repeat **<br />

four more times.<br />

<strong>Row</strong> 13: Slip down 10 beads from yarn. Divi<strong>de</strong> the beads into five<br />

groups of two beads each. *Skip the first appearing stitch from row<br />

before, work the next 2 stitches one-to-one*. Repeat ** 4 more<br />

times.<br />

<strong>Row</strong> 14: Slip down the last five beads from yarn. Skip 1 stitch,<br />

crochet 1 bead in the next stitch* 5 times.<br />

Now you‘re done. Cut the thread and pull it through the last stitch. Hi<strong>de</strong> the thread in your work, trim.<br />

Depending on the size of the used seedbeads and thread it could be necessary to skip one of the 30-beadrows.<br />

Put the woo<strong>de</strong>n bead after the 9th row in your crochet-work, the last row should be a little bit<br />

above the equator.<br />

Woo<strong>de</strong>n Bead with Ø 10 mm<br />

Use the same materials for a bead with a diameter of 10 mm.<br />

Your starting row contains only four beads, in each round you have to increase fourmore<br />

beads.<br />
