The regular board meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Board President Hopper. Present<br />
were Boyle, Haske, Hemerley, Hopper, Murphy, Neitzel and Woggon. Also present was<br />
Principal Toelle, Superintendent Hanson, and interested citizens.<br />
Verification of Compliance with Open Meeting law.<br />
Roll Call<br />
Motion by Murphy, second by Hemerley to approve the agenda for the August 11, 2008 regular<br />
school board meeting as printed.<br />
Motion carried. Vote: 7 Yes 0 No 0 Abstain<br />
Motion by Boyle, second by Murphy to approve the regular school board meeting minutes of<br />
July 14, 2008 as printed and special school board meeting minutes of July 24, 2008 as printed.<br />
Motion carried. Vote: 7 Yes 0 No 0 Abstain<br />

Motion by Murphy, second by Hopper approve the monthly invoices as reviewed and to issue<br />
checks #35864 through #35943 and manual checks #1207 through #1218 in the amount of<br />
$310,052.24 and to pay the same.<br />

New Business -<br />
Motion by Murphy, second by Woggon to approve the preliminary budget for 2008-2009 as<br />
proposed.<br />
Motion carried. Vote: 7 Yes 0 No 0 Abstain
Motion by Neitzel, second by Boyle to accept the milk bid from Allaby Dairy for the 2008-2009<br />
school year.<br />
Motion carried. Vote: 7 Yes 0 No 0 Abstain<br />
Motion by Hopper, second by Neitzel to approve the first reading of Athletic Conditions of<br />
Participation with new rules written in before the second reading.<br />
Motion carried. Vote: 7 Yes 0 No 0 Abstain<br />
Motion by Neitzel, second by Hemerley to table the Student Dress Code until the September<br />
meeting.<br />
Motion carried. Vote: 7 Yes 0 No 0 Abstain<br />
Motion by Murphy, second by Haske to table the hiring of the Summer Recreation Director until<br />
the September meeting.<br />
Motion carried. Vote: 7 Yes 0 No 0 Abstain<br />
Motion by Haske, second by Boyle to hire Shermen Anderson as the Junior High Football<br />
Coach.<br />
Motion carried. Vote: 7 Yes 0 No 0 Abstain<br />
Motion by Neitzel, second by Woggon to hire Cindy Costello as Yearbook Advisor effective<br />
2009-2010.<br />
Motion carried. Vote: 7 Yes 0 No 0 Abstain<br />

Motion by Murphy, second by Hemerley to convene in closed session to discuss items identified<br />
in State Statute 19.85(1)( g) then to reconvene in open session immediately following the closed<br />
session to conduct any business resulting from closed session.<br />
Roll call vote was taken with all present members voting “Aye”.<br />
No other business was conducted at this session other than that mentioned above.<br />

conduct any business resulting from closed session.<br />
