determine r<strong>an</strong>ge to target, use <strong>an</strong>y of several methods: r<strong>an</strong>ge cards, r<strong>an</strong>ge<br />

estimation techniques, the upper portion of the AN/TVS-5 reticle,<br />

or TRPs.<br />

b. After determining r<strong>an</strong>ge, use the aiming point designated for that<br />

r<strong>an</strong>ge on the M2 reticle (Figure G-6, page G-12 [old reticle]; Figure G-7,<br />

page G-<strong>13</strong> [new reticle]). If using the HWTS bracket <strong>an</strong>d the M2 reticle,<br />

adjust the bracket to the nearest r<strong>an</strong>ge determined <strong>an</strong>d use the 800-meter<br />

aiming point. Use the M2 reticle only if the <strong>sight</strong> is mounted on the<br />

HWTS mounting bracket. Regardless of the r<strong>an</strong>ge to the target, the 400-<br />

meter aiming point serves as the aiming point. Use the bracket to adjust<br />

for r<strong>an</strong>ge.<br />

c. Bring the aiming point of the AN/TVS-5 onto the target using the<br />

T&E as explained in Section V.<br />

d. Hold the <strong>weapon</strong> tight against the T&E, press the trigger, <strong>an</strong>d<br />

adjust fire as needed.<br />
