<strong>Pre</strong>-Admission <strong>HESI</strong> Test In<strong>for</strong>mation<br />
Radiologic Technology<br />
PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY, AS YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE<br />
FOR KNOWING AND FOLLOWING ITS CONTENTS.<br />
What is a <strong>HESI</strong> <strong>test</strong>?<br />
All applicants to St. Clair County Community College’s <strong>radiologic</strong> <strong>technology</strong> program<br />
are required to take the Health Education Systems Inc. (<strong>HESI</strong>) A2 Admission<br />
Assessment as a part of the application process <strong>for</strong> the program. The <strong>HESI</strong> <strong>test</strong> is just<br />
one of the criteria used to accept potential students into the program.<br />
Please review the following <strong>in<strong>for</strong>mation</strong> regarding <strong>HESI</strong> <strong>test</strong>ing:<br />
1. Applications<br />
• <strong>HESI</strong> registrants must have on file a completed Application <strong>for</strong> Admission to SC4.<br />
• <strong>HESI</strong> registrants must have on file a completed SC4 Allied Health Program<br />
Application, indicating Radiological Technology – Associate Degree as the<br />
intended program of study.<br />
2. <strong>HESI</strong> Registration<br />
• Pay the $60 non-refundable fee to the SC4 Business Office:<br />
o By mail – P.O. Box 5015, Port Huron, MI 48061-5015<br />
o In Person – Room 220, Main Building, 323 Erie St., Port Huron<br />
o By Phone – (810) 989-5513 or (800) 553-2427, Ext. 5513<br />
Check, credit card or cash (in person) will be accepted <strong>for</strong> payment.<br />
• Call the MTEC Testing Center at (810) 989-5555 to schedule your <strong>test</strong> once you<br />
have paid your registration fee. Please be prepared to provide the following<br />
<strong>in<strong>for</strong>mation</strong>. (If you don’t have this <strong>in<strong>for</strong>mation</strong> readily available, no appointment<br />
will be scheduled and you will have to call back with the <strong>in<strong>for</strong>mation</strong>. This could<br />
delay when you are able to take the <strong>test</strong>.<br />
o Your SC4 student I.D. number <strong>for</strong> proper identification<br />
o Correct spelling of your name<br />
o <strong>Pre</strong>ferred date and time <strong>for</strong> taking the <strong>test</strong>. Also, select an alternative date.<br />
(Record your <strong>test</strong> date and time on your calendar. Because of other<br />
college <strong>test</strong>ing obligations, college staff won’t look up this <strong>in<strong>for</strong>mation</strong><br />
again).<br />
3. Additional <strong>HESI</strong> registration <strong>in<strong>for</strong>mation</strong><br />
• The <strong>HESI</strong> <strong>test</strong> must be taken by the application deadline date – Feb. 15.<br />

• College staff checks the payment roster periodically against the scheduled<br />
<strong>test</strong>ing times of the applicants.<br />
o Anyone who hasn’t paid their fee will be dropped from the <strong>test</strong>ing<br />
schedule with no prior notification. It is your responsibility to assure<br />
that the administration fee is paid in advance of scheduling.<br />
o Walk-ins aren’t permitted because of space limitations in the <strong>test</strong>ing<br />
facility.<br />
• Depending upon the availability of <strong>test</strong>ing slots, MTEC Testing Center staff will<br />
attempt to schedule applicants in the applicant’s first choice <strong>for</strong> <strong>test</strong>ing.<br />
• Scheduled <strong>test</strong>ing dates and times may not be changed unless approved in<br />
advance by the MTEC Testing Center.<br />
• Applicants are allowed a maximum of two times to schedule their <strong>test</strong>, including<br />
emergencies.<br />
• The <strong>test</strong>ing dates and times are on the SC4 website at<br />
www.sc4.edu/<strong>radiologic</strong><strong>technology</strong>. Tests are scheduled on a first-come, firstserved<br />
basis.<br />
4. Prior to <strong>HESI</strong> <strong>test</strong>ing date<br />
• Create a <strong>HESI</strong>/Student Evolve Account by going to http://evolve.elsevier.com<br />
5. On the day of your scheduled <strong>HESI</strong> <strong>test</strong><br />
• Report to the MTEC Testing Center, at least 15 minutes be<strong>for</strong>e the start of your<br />
<strong>test</strong>.<br />
• The following must be presented when reporting <strong>for</strong> <strong>test</strong>ing:<br />
o A driver’s license or state photo I.D.<br />
o Your receipt verifying <strong>test</strong> payment<br />
o Student Evolve Account ID and password<br />
6. Special Testing Accommodations<br />
If you have a disability that would prevent you from taking the <strong>HESI</strong> exam under<br />
standard conditions, you may request special accommodations and arrangements;<br />
appropriate documentation of disability must be provided the day or your <strong>test</strong>.<br />
Contact the MTEC Testing Center at (810) 989-5555 a minimum of two weeks<br />
be<strong>for</strong>e your scheduled <strong>test</strong> date to arrange your special <strong>test</strong>ing accommodations.<br />
NO accommodations will be made on the <strong>test</strong> day if no prior arrangements have<br />
been made.<br />
