FOR KNOWING AND FOLLOWING ITS CONTENTS.
What is a HESI test?
All applicants to St. Clair County Community College’s radiologic technology program
are required to take the Health Education Systems Inc. (HESI) A2 Admission
Assessment as a part of the application process for the program. The HESI test is just
one of the criteria used to accept potential students into the program.
Please review the following information regarding HESI testing:
1. Applications
• HESI registrants must have on file a completed Application for Admission to SC4.
• HESI registrants must have on file a completed SC4 Allied Health Program
Application, indicating Radiological Technology – Associate Degree as the
intended program of study.
2. HESI Registration
• Pay the $60 non-refundable fee to the SC4 Business Office:
o By mail – P.O. Box 5015, Port Huron, MI 48061-5015
o In Person – Room 220, Main Building, 323 Erie St., Port Huron
o By Phone – (810) 989-5513 or (800) 553-2427, Ext. 5513
Check, credit card or cash (in person) will be accepted for payment.
• Call the MTEC Testing Center at (810) 989-5555 to schedule your test once you
have paid your registration fee. Please be prepared to provide the following
information. (If you don’t have this information readily available, no appointment
will be scheduled and you will have to call back with the information. This could
delay when you are able to take the test.
o Your SC4 student I.D. number for proper identification
o Correct spelling of your name
o Preferred date and time for taking the test. Also, select an alternative date.
(Record your test date and time on your calendar. Because of other
college testing obligations, college staff won’t look up this information
again).
3. Additional HESI registration information
• The HESI test must be taken by the application deadline date – Feb. 15.

• College staff checks the payment roster periodically against the scheduled
testing times of the applicants.
o Anyone who hasn’t paid their fee will be dropped from the testing
schedule with no prior notification. It is your responsibility to assure
that the administration fee is paid in advance of scheduling.
o Walk-ins aren’t permitted because of space limitations in the testing
facility.
• Depending upon the availability of testing slots, MTEC Testing Center staff will
attempt to schedule applicants in the applicant’s first choice for testing.
• Scheduled testing dates and times may not be changed unless approved in
advance by the MTEC Testing Center.
• Applicants are allowed a maximum of two times to schedule their test, including
emergencies.
• The testing dates and times are on the SC4 website at
www.sc4.edu/radiologictechnology. Tests are scheduled on a first-come, firstserved
basis.
4. Prior to HESI testing date
• Create a HESI/Student Evolve Account by going to http://evolve.elsevier.com
5. On the day of your scheduled HESI test
• Report to the MTEC Testing Center, at least 15 minutes before the start of your
test.
• The following must be presented when reporting for testing:
o A driver’s license or state photo I.D.
o Your receipt verifying test payment
o Student Evolve Account ID and password
6. Special Testing Accommodations
If you have a disability that would prevent you from taking the HESI exam under
standard conditions, you may request special accommodations and arrangements;
appropriate documentation of disability must be provided the day or your test.
Contact the MTEC Testing Center at (810) 989-5555 a minimum of two weeks
before your scheduled test date to arrange your special testing accommodations.
NO accommodations will be made on the test day if no prior arrangements have
been made.
