Skin Disease Education Foundation (SDEF) presents the 13th Annual
Las Vegas Dermatology Seminar, November 1-3, 2012.
National leaders in the field of dermatology will present recent advances
and emerging trends in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of
patients with dermatologic diseases. This highly scientific conference
features key clinical topics such as acne, rosacea, AK, BCC, psoriasis,
contact dermatitis, eczema, as well as clinical cases and chief topics
in aesthetic dermatology. Psoriasis is the most prevalent autoimmune
disease in the United States today and SDEF is pleased to present the
9th Annual SDEF Psoriasis Forum which is featured on day two of
this conference. Discussions and interactive panels and cases covering
current and emerging biologic and topical therapies for the treatment of
psoriasis are featured throughout the day. Increasing numbers of physicians
have demonstrated a commitment to learning about and using
biologics as well as more potent topical medications to help patients
achieve optimal control of their disease.
SDEF’s 13th Annual Las Vegas Dermatology Seminar
including the 9th Annual Psoriasis Forum will be of interest to both
the seasoned clinician and residents in training. Please join us

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this live conference, participants should be able to:
• Evaluate the latest information on new and emerging therapies for
common and less common dermatologic diseases and incorporate
them into clinical practice.
• Identify appropriate treatments for patients with complex dermatologic
disorders.
• Assess the benefits of currently available and future treatment options
for acne and rosacea, including retinoids, antibiotic/immunomodulatory
agents, combination agents, and laser/light techniques.
Discuss how existing and emerging diagnostic tools and treatments
for BCC, AKs and SCC can be used to improve patient outcomes.
• Describe the mechanisms of action, efficacy, and safety of the biologic
agents used to treat psoriasis, as well as the factors involved in
appropriate patient selection.
• Discuss the roles of topical and systemic therapies, including
biologic agents, in the treatment of moderate-to-severe psoriasis.
• Assess patients for comorbidities and manage psoriasis as well as
the comorbidities that are associated with it.
• Interpret and evaluate emerging clinical trial data related to the use
of biologic treatments for moderate-to-severe psoriasis to increase
awareness of new treatment options.
• As a wide range of novel agents advance in clinical development
and new data emerge from studies concerning the pathogenesis of
psoriasis, dermatologists must remain up-to-date to continue offering
their patients quality care, whether they manage therapy.
• Choose the injectable facial shaping agents that are appropriate for
each area of the face and in the targeted planar depth.
• Compare the benefits and limitations of newer surgical/non-surgical
techniques and topical treatment options for aesthetic and procedural
dermatology.

This activity has been planned and implemented in
accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
(ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the University
of Louisville (CHSE) and Skin Disease Education
Foundation (SDEF), a division of Global Academy for
Medical Education. CHSE is accredited by the ACCME
to provide continuing medical education (CME) for
physician.

Education Recognition Award
SDEF’s 13th Las Vegas Dermatology Seminar (Program#
631-100) has been recognized by the AAD for 17.0
Category 1 CME credits and may be used toward the
AAD Continuing Medical Education Award. Each physician
should claim only those credit hours equivalent to time
spent in educational sessions. There will be an attendance
form which you must sign daily. We seek your compliance.
Nursing Credit
This program has been approved by the Kentucky Board
of Nursing for 21.7 contact hours through the University
of Louisville School of Nursing.
AAFP Credit
Application for CME credit has been filed with the
American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination
of Credits is pending.

Registrants who do not cancel according to the following
guidelines will forfeit all registration fees. You must e-mail
nick@sdefderm.com, or fax your cancellation request to
866.401.8609. There is a registration cancellation fee of 25%
of your registration rate for cancellations received 90 days
(08/03/2012) prior to the event. There is a registration cancellation
fee of 50% of your registration rate for cancellations received
60 days (09/02/2012) prior to the event. There are no
refunds for cancellations after 30 days (10/01/2012) prior to
the event. “No shows” are not eligible for refunds. Registration
refunds will be processed within 60 days of the meeting. SDEF
is not responsible for nonrefundable, nontransferable airline tickets
or hotel accommodations purchased for attendance at this
course. The participant registration fee covers attendance to the
scientific meeting, continental breakfasts, coffee breaks and exhibits.

for Medical Education (Global) permission to list registrant’s

Vegas Dermatology Seminar TM single/double occupancy:
$189, per night plus tax. An additional charge of $35 per night
will be assessed for each occupant in excess of two (2). Also a
resort fee of $12 plus tax per room will be charged at the time of
