Laser ID Cards
Create personalised ID cards
Creating personalised membership or identification cards no
longer requires large numbers and long runs of special
manufacture. The introduction of the Xerox Laser ID Card
means that fully personalised, small quantity jobs may easily be
produced on your Black and White or Colour copier/printer,
when required. As we move toward the use of more personal
cards, from credit to membership and identification cards, there
is a real need to be able to reduce the amount of space needed
in wallets and purses. Traditional "bank/credit" type cards need
large numbers in order to be able to be produced economically
with lengthy production lead times. Now Xerox Laser ID Card
allows you to design your card on screen and print immediately
on your laser printer in run lengths starting with 1 single copy.
Laser ID Card is described as a "Thin Card Technology" providing
durable water, oil and wear resistant cards that can be easily
created on demand.
Product Specification
User Guidelines
• Base paper weight of the carrier sheet is 110gsm
• The carrier sheet (paper) and the printable surface of the peel out card (Plastic laminate) have different levels of
conductivity, therefore in the case of other than simple BLACK text it should be assumed the colour fidelity between
the paper and the plastic is likely to vary. This will be particularly so when attempting to reproduce heavy image area
coverage of solid colours.
• It is NOT recommended to attempt to image to within 3mm of the cards front face cut outline. This cut, which
forms the shape and enables the release of the card, will not permit the required contact with the photoreceptor
closer than at least 3mm from the cut line. Failure to observe this will result in image deletions.
• The sheet should in ALL machines be fed "Short Edge" with the Lasercard trailing.
• The machines fuser mode should be set in line with either the particular colour machines RML (Recommended
Materials List) or to at least "Heavyweight 1" mode.
• Always check the specific machines RML for acknowledged suitability.
