Tom Groden is in his 34th season as the head ... - Boston College

Individually, Groden has been the recipient of many coach of the year awards from the ECAC, the BIG EAST,
the NEWISDA, the National Catholic‟s organization, and he was awarded the Masters Coach Award from the CSCAA.
A 1972 graduate of Boston College, Groden played four years on the new founded Soccer team. Tom was also
the player coach on the Water Polo team. Tom captured Most Valuable Player honors in water polo four times. He was
the team‟s high scorer and was chosen as a member of the All-New England Team.
Tom lives with his wife Sara, a BC Varsity Club Hall of Fame member for her swimming in Walpole,
Massachusetts. They have two daughters. Susan graduated from BC in 2007. After working two years in New York City
as a paralegal, Susan will be entering her final year as a Law student at BC this fall. This summer she is interning with
Martha Coakley, the Massachusetts Attorney General. Erin graduated from Boston College in 2010 where she was a
member of the Presidential Scholar Program. Erin was a Biology major. Erin is working at the Ragon Institute at the
Charlestown Navy Yard affiliated with the Massachusetts General Hospital. She is in a Biology lab working on
developing a vaccine for the AIDS Virus.
