Opportunity<br />
Box Office – selling tickets before per<strong>form</strong>ances. Volunteers must arrive no later than 30<br />
minutes prior to show time (show times are typically Saturday matinee per<strong>form</strong>ances at 2pm and<br />
Friday and Saturday evening per<strong>form</strong>ances at 4:30pm and 7:30pm). Instructions are provided,<br />
and volunteers receive a complimentary ticket to <strong>the</strong> show.<br />
Concession – selling concession items (baked goods, drinks and promotional items) before,<br />
during and immediately following per<strong>form</strong>ances.<br />
Concession Items – In "bake-sale" fashion, this involves donating goodies such as home-baked<br />
treats (or high-quality bakery baked goodies) like Cookies, Brownies, Lemon Bars or Cupcakes<br />
as well as various bottled water and o<strong>the</strong>r beverages to sell from <strong>the</strong> concession stand on<br />
per<strong>form</strong>ance dates.<br />
Promotion/Public Relations – reaching out to any contacts you may have in <strong>the</strong> press, arts,<br />
community, etc. to help promote <strong>SOTA</strong> and <strong>SOTA</strong> <strong>Theatre</strong>.<br />
Program Augmentation – persuading any noteworthy per<strong>form</strong>ers you may be acquainted with<br />
to come into <strong>the</strong> school and speak with <strong>the</strong> students.<br />

Freebies – leveraging any “ins” you may have to get free tickets to per<strong>form</strong>ances or events that<br />
can help expand student’s experience.<br />

Fundraising – reaching out to your philanthropic contacts or leveraging your company’s<br />
matching program to help raise monies that directly benefit <strong>the</strong> <strong>Theatre</strong> <strong>Department</strong> via Friends<br />
of <strong>SOTA</strong> foundation.<br />
Manual Labor – helping to maintain and operate <strong>the</strong> drama studio space and prepare for<br />
per<strong>form</strong>ances.<br />
