CARUBE REPORTS EXTENSIVE COPPER MINERALIZATION
IN TRENCHES AT BELLAS GATE PROJECT
OTTAWA, ONTARIO, APRIL 5, 2012: Carube Resources Inc. (Carube) is pleased to announce
results from channel samples collected from nine trenches over copper anomalies at its Bellas
Gate Project in Jamaica. The anomalies were defined from data compilation and a soil
geochemical program completed in late 2011 (see Press Release dated November 29, 2011 and
Schedule A). Results from the trenching indicate that high metal values, primarily copper,
correlate well with highly anomalous copper, gold and silver values from the soil samples.
The trenches not only confirm the presence of the soil anomalies in the weathered rock, but
indicate impressive widths of oxidized material rich in copper and, in specific instances, the
presence of gold and silver, in spite of the trenches bottoming in a zone most probably leached of
metals. A summary of the results is shown in Schedule B.
Trench Results: Significant results encountered in the trenches include:
(1) High Stone Hill trenches
48m of 0.25% Cu, including 0.33% Cu over 15 m in HSH1
30m of 0.29% Cu, including 0.43% over 6m in HSH1a
5m of 0.30% Cu in HSH2
8m of 0.63% Cu in HSH3
HSH2 and HSH3 are located along an anomaly where a large pre-1958 trench,
approximately 3.5 x 18m, exposed a copper-bearing zone (malachite, minor bornite and
chalcopyrite) averaging 2.3% Cu over 2m for a length of over 18m.
(2) Dry Hill Trenches
45m of 0.42% Cu including 0.64% Cu over 18m in DH1
13m of 0.69% Cu including 1.37% Cu over 4m in DH2
These two mineralized sections could well be within a broad structure or series of
structures trending to the northwest.
(3) Charing Cross Trenches
5m of 0.29% Cu in CC1, trench excavated across a northern splay of the Charing
Cross-Congo Hill Zone (CCZ)
6m of 0.44% Cu and 3m of 0.21% Cu, 0.3ppm Au in CC2 on an off-set to the CCZ
(4) Bordeaux Hill Trenches
4m of 0.13% Cu and 5m of 13.5ppm Ag in BH1
17m of 0.12% Cu and 0.4 ppm Au, 3m of 0.19% Cu, and 2.2ppm Au in BH2
Diamond drilling (one drill operating, second being mobilized) is underway with a number of
holes being completed. The holes drilled to date show evidence of mineralization, and assays
should be available in about 90 days.
This press release has been prepared by Dr. V. N. Rampton, P.Eng. in his capacity as a qualified
person as defined under NI 43-101 standards.
Sample Preparation, Analysis and Quality Control: For most trenches, channel samples were
taken at the base of the trench wall over 1 to 3m intervals. The samples, weighing between 3 kg
and 1 kg were stored in a secure locality and then forwarded through bonded couriers to
Activation Laboratories Ltd. (Actlab) at Ancaster, Ontario. At Actlab the samples were crushed
with up to 90% passing 2mm, 250g was then split and pulverized to 95% passing 105 micron.
Actlab’s IEP1 (Au+14) procedure was utilized to determine the values of 15 elements. Thirty
grams were utilized for neutron activation to determine Au, As, Sb, Ba, Hg and W contents. The
remainder of the elements—Ag, Cd, Cu, Hg, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, S and Zn—has their values
determined by ICP following aqua regia digestion.
Actlab is a fully accredited laboratory to ISO 17025 and CAN-P-1579 and NELAP standards. A
certain number of standards and blanks are inserted into the sequence of samples to be analyzed.
Splits and duplicates are also systematically analyzed for quality control. In addition, Carube
inserted a number of blanks for analysis.
beginning March, 2011. It also owns a 100% interest in Rodinia Jamaica Limited which controls 4
additional licences covering a total of 176 square kilometres located mainly on three of Jamaica’s
highly prospective Cretaceous Inliers. In addition it has an option to earn a 100% interest on the
highly prospective 23 km 2 Fiedmont platinum and palladium project north of Val d’Or, Quebec. It
