The Calne, Shorncote and Woodsford<br />
operations also include ready-mixed<br />
concrete plants.<br />
These quarries are also able to supply a comprehensive range<br />
of aggregates – sand, gravel, limestone, ballast for concrete,<br />
decorative aggregates and screened topsoil. It means that<br />
we are an ideal source of aggregate for every need, from<br />
construction through to more specialised needs for end-uses<br />
such as sports and leisure applications, agriculture,<br />
landscaping and gardening.<br />
Whilst several of the quarry <strong>sites</strong> are licensed for the tipping<br />
of inert materials, we also have dedicated facilities for<br />
disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes through<br />
our sister company, <strong>Hills</strong> Waste Solutions Ltd.<br />

UPWOOD QUARRY<br />
Located on the A420 a few miles west of Oxford, Upwood<br />
<strong>Quarry</strong> has a range of operations and products. It produces a<br />
high quality mortar sand (BS EN 13139), and various grades<br />
of crushed rock. It is also a source of secondary aggregates<br />
through resource recovery from a tipping operation for inert<br />
materials.<br />

TUBNEY WOOD QUARRY<br />
Tubney Wood <strong>Quarry</strong> is also located on the A420, near<br />
Upwood <strong>Quarry</strong>. It is an exhausted sand quarry, currently<br />
being restored using imported inert material to achieve the<br />
required profiles. In addition, the quarry has a licensed facility<br />
for processing secondary aggregates from imported<br />
construction and demolition waste.<br />

Bowling Green <strong>Quarry</strong> is located on the A417 a few miles<br />
south of Faringdon and has a range of operations and<br />
products. The quarry produces a dry-screened sand<br />
plus several grades of crushed or screened rock. The quarry<br />
also offers a tipping operation for inert materials.<br />

SHORNCOTE QUARRY<br />
Shorncote <strong>Quarry</strong> is located in the Cotswold Water Park a<br />
few miles south of Cirencester and has state-of-the-art<br />
facilities for the production of aggregates and ready-mixed<br />
concrete. The quarry produces a high quality washed sand<br />
and gravel (BS EN 12620) plus various grades of crushed<br />
rock. It also produces secondary aggregates and topsoil<br />
through resource recovery incorporated into a tipping<br />
operation for inert materials.<br />

Woodsford <strong>Quarry</strong> is located five miles east of Dorchester,<br />
and has state-of-the-art facilities for the production of<br />
aggregates and ready-mixed concrete. It can supply projects<br />
of all sizes, from major civil engineering contract works to<br />
builders merchants, small housing <strong>sites</strong>, farms, sports<br />
facilities and construction <strong>sites</strong>. It also specialises in tailor<br />
made supply agreements for builders merchants.<br />
