CONRAD BALI ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM
The Conrad Bali is a five star resort located on the beach of Tanjung Benoa at Nusa Dua on the
Indonesia Island of Bali set on the shore of the Indian Ocean. The Resort offers a wide range of
services including accommodation, conference centre, children’s club, a spa for adults and children
and water sports as well as other indoor and outdoor activities.
Conrad Bali’s vision recognizes the importance of developing a sustainable environment for our
guests, the local community and our employees. As a member of Hilton Worldwide Family, Conrad
Hotels & Resorts ‘LightStay’ programme is the basis to support our mission and vision and the
long term sustainability of the travel and tourism in Bali.
Hilton Worldwide launched LightStay in January 2010 as its global sustainability measurement
system. LightStay has brought together Hilton Worldwide’s hotels and resorts to commit to reducing
energy consumption by 20%, Co2 emissions by 20%, output of waste by 20%, and water
consumption by 10% by 2014.
Hilton Worldwide is committed to focusing on high-impact areas, including sustainable buildings and
operations, and the advancement of sustainable design and construction, operations, chemical
management, purchasing, and to the advancement of renewable energy as a source of power for
operations, not only to reduce its carbon footprint but to develop a viable commercial infrastructure for
powering its buildings.
Conrad Bali is committed to complying with relevant international and local environmental public and
occupational health and safety, hygiene and employment legislation and other requirements, including
living in harmony using the Tri Hita Karana concept. Performance based objectives are set annually to

achieve LightStay goals related to sustainable travel and tourism, including those related to the
impact of potable water consumption and the generation of solid waste.
We commit to continual improvement in the environmental sustainability and benchmarking indicators.
Our environmental and social sustainability policy is communicated to our employees, suppliers and
guests and made available on request to the local community and other interested parties. We also
actively involve local community, staff and guests to join our environmental programs.
Our policy is to support the local community through direct and indirect employment, and the
purchase of local products where this does not affect the organization’s operational activities, viability,
or create adverse environmental and social impacts.
This Policy has been agreed by the Conrad Bali Management and Environmental Committee and will
be reviewed annually and updated as required.
