FARROWING CRATE
The Porcon ® farrowing crate is optimal for modern large
sow farms. The inverted bottom tubes of the crate provide
a spacious and therefore comfortable surface for the
sow. Because of this, the sow can quietly farrow without
being disturbed by obstacles (like for example “rejectables”).
Because the sow quietly can do farrowing, the sow
is therefore less exhausted and recovers much faster.
The design of the Porcon® farrowing crate makes it possible
for the piglets to reach the nipples without obstacles.
They can drink the first important milk from the beginning.
There will be no starving piglets by obstacles from
the crate. Therefore the sow is not harassed by hungry
piglets. She can rest, which will have a positive influence
on weaning.
TROUGH VARIANTS
Protection brackets for the sow, which will be placed at
the right place, ensure that the sow cannot drop themselves.
The piglets have enough time to step aside for the
sow when they notice that sow wants to lie down.
The piglets are free to move all around the entire farrowing
crate. Furthermore, the piglets can escape from the
sow in case that the sow is in an aggressive mood.

never come under the bottom tube and the piglets
have free access to the nipples

The Porcon ® farrowing crate ensures that the
sow has optimal access to the water. The sow
can take enough water during weaning and
ensure good milk.

DIFFERENT SIZES: You can get Porcon Farrowing Crate Safety in different lengths and heights. One can use a plastic trough, a
stainless steel trough and a stainless steel turn over trough.
DIFFERENT INSTALLATION OPTIONS: The Porcon Farrowing Crate Safety is highly variable in its mounting. It can be assembled
to a wall or on a slat. One can also assemble the back side from the farrowing crate on a slat or it can be fastened to the back.
DIFFERENT WATER FLOWS: One has a lot of attention for the water flow from sow and piglet. Therefore systems are available
with separate nipple for sow and piglet or combined sow/piglet facilities.
