• Bi<strong>to</strong>n<strong>to</strong> is located approximately 15 kilometers west <strong>of</strong> Bari.<br />

• This is a charming, small city; it is quiet, simple, and exudes a very good feel.<br />

• Aes<strong>the</strong>tically, <strong>the</strong> Duomo is probably <strong>the</strong> most impressive <strong>Romanesque</strong> ca<strong>the</strong>dral in<br />

<strong>Puglia</strong>.<br />

Duomo<br />

• The Duomo, named Cattedrale di San Valentino e Santa Maria Assunta, was constructed<br />

from 1175 <strong>to</strong> 1200.<br />

• It was likely modeled in part on Bari’s Duomo.<br />
