To provide the student an opportunity to gain practical management experience under<br />

professional supervision, in actual work situations at management level.<br />

To supplement the student's classroom experiences and allow for adjustment or redirection of<br />

G. Responsibilities Include:<br />

Student Responsibilities to the Employer and Institution<br />

• Perform the relevant tasks assigned at the internship, to the standards expected or above.<br />

• Notify the supervisors, in advance, of any absences.<br />

• Abide by the institution’s code of conduct as well as the employer’s regulations and policies (including<br />

medical requirements, work schedule and other related areas).<br />

• Refrain from intentional misconduct or negligence on the internship environment and employees.<br />

• Assume responsibility for transportation to and from the internship site.<br />

Employer Responsibilities to Student and the Institution<br />

• Provide opportunities for the intern to learn and meet the objectives of the internship<br />

• Guide and support the student during the internship<br />

• Provide comments for the student’s improvement<br />

• Seek feedback from the student in terms of his/her expectation of the scientific duties<br />

• Inform the institution within 24 hours if any accidents occur.<br />

• Evaluate the intern’s work using the ‘Internship Evaluation Form’ and send it to the Institutional<br />

Supervisor as this is a compulsory requirement for the <strong>Bachelor</strong> <strong>Degree</strong> at Taylor’s School of<br />

Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts<br />

Institutional Supervisor Responsibilities to Student and the Employer<br />

• Provide point of contact and serve as a consultant in the event of performance problems and others.<br />

After signing this document by all the parties involved the Internship is deemed valid and cannot be<br />

revoked, excepted under the clauses for internship ending as per the academic handbook.<br />
