Legal Basics<br />
The course director is Goh Su L<strong>in</strong> (Insead Executive MBA) of <strong>Emily</strong> <strong>Hill</strong><br />
and Intercultural Theatre Institute (ITI). She practiced commercial<br />
litigation before becom<strong>in</strong>g the General Manager of The Necessary<br />
Stage, then Consultant, Law & Bus<strong>in</strong>ess Affairs for MTV Asia, before<br />
tak<strong>in</strong>g up her present position as General Manager of ITI, and cofound<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>Emily</strong> <strong>Hill</strong>.<br />
Su L<strong>in</strong> is also a member of the Arts & Culture Manpower & Skills<br />
Tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Council of WDA, and has acted as guest speaker and<br />
external exam<strong>in</strong>er for classes at National University of S<strong>in</strong>gapore<br />
(NUS), LASALLE College of the Arts, Temasek Polytechnic,and<br />
Columbia University.<br />
Samuel Seow is the Manag<strong>in</strong>g Director of Samuel Seow Law<br />
Corporation. His expertise and forte is <strong>in</strong> the field of Intellectual<br />
Property(IP) with a special focus on the application of these laws to<br />
the enterta<strong>in</strong>ment, arts and media <strong>in</strong>dustries.<br />
Samuel has extensive experience <strong>in</strong> advis<strong>in</strong>g on and negotiat<strong>in</strong>g the<br />
contractual and f<strong>in</strong>ancial aspects of local and <strong>in</strong>ternational deals and<br />
structures for many enterta<strong>in</strong>ment and media bus<strong>in</strong>esses.<br />
Furthermore, he also manages the IP portfolios, advises on<br />
commercialisation strategies and resolves disputes aris<strong>in</strong>g from<br />
production or IP rights. As part of his commitment to contribute to<br />
the creative <strong>in</strong>dustries, Samuel is the legal advisor to many theatre<br />
organisations, non-profit associations and companies.<br />

Leadership<br />
Arthur Koo is a personal development coach, EQ tra<strong>in</strong>er and outdoor<br />
adventure facilitator. His passion is to build effective and high<br />
perform<strong>in</strong>g teams. He believes <strong>in</strong> the power of question<strong>in</strong>g and<br />
utilises question<strong>in</strong>g techniques to enable the participant to selfreflect,<br />
self-learn and self-discover the numerous paths available to<br />
them.<br />
Arthur has conducted tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g for various groups, from major<br />
corporations to schools.<br />
ElsieTan has been engaged <strong>in</strong> teach<strong>in</strong>g, tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g and facilitat<strong>in</strong>g work<br />
s<strong>in</strong>ce 1992. Her earlier career was <strong>in</strong> journalism, writ<strong>in</strong>g and edit<strong>in</strong>g<br />
The Straits Times and United Press International. She believes that<br />
<strong>in</strong>spired leadership arises from a deep understand<strong>in</strong>g of the self and<br />
a commitment to liv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> alignment with our values. She delights <strong>in</strong><br />
processes that facilitate this self-awareness and draws out from<br />
people an enthusiastic desire to be their highest selves.<br />
Elsie has worked with a wide variety of participants <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g young<br />
children, teenagers on probation, people <strong>in</strong> prison, university<br />
students, teachers and parents. Her focus has primarily been <strong>in</strong> areas<br />
of life skills and values. Topics she has covered <strong>in</strong>clude envision<strong>in</strong>g,<br />
goal sett<strong>in</strong>g, understand<strong>in</strong>g feel<strong>in</strong>gs and needs, active listen<strong>in</strong>g and<br />
exploration as well as clarification of values. Elsie has a Master of<br />
Education from the University of Alberta, Canada.
Alfred Chan<br />
F<strong>in</strong>ancial basics<br />
Alfred Chan is the Manag<strong>in</strong>g Director of Imperial Consult<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong><br />
S<strong>in</strong>gapore. He started his career started as an <strong>in</strong>vestment banker<br />
with Morgan Guaranty (JP Morgan) and DBS Bank. For close to 20<br />
years he worked as a management consultant with Andersen<br />
Consult<strong>in</strong>g (now Accenture).<br />
Alfred was a partner with Arthur Andersen and later, a Director with<br />
KPMG. Alfred’s work <strong>in</strong> management consult<strong>in</strong>g has focused on<br />
strategy, f<strong>in</strong>ance, privatisation and organisational advisory. Apart<br />
from runn<strong>in</strong>g Imperial Consultancy, Alfred also conducts tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g for<br />
the company’s clients <strong>in</strong> his two areas of expertise: strategy and<br />
f<strong>in</strong>ance.<br />
Grace Clapham<br />
Market<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Grace began her career with<strong>in</strong> the fashion <strong>in</strong>dustry <strong>in</strong> Australia as<br />
sales & market<strong>in</strong>g manager for Gorman, a well-established Australian<br />
designer brand. In 2010 she opened a brand management agency<br />
based <strong>in</strong> S<strong>in</strong>gapore and worked with newly launched fashion portal<br />
ERIIN (www.ERIIN.com). In the same year she was a prior co-curator<br />
for the TEDx S<strong>in</strong>gapore Women event. In 2011 Grace was appo<strong>in</strong>ted<br />
as one of the Global Ambassadors for the Citizens for Social Bus<strong>in</strong>ess<br />
supported by Professional Muhammed Yunus. In <strong>2012</strong> along with two<br />
co-organisers Grace was given the rights to br<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>Creative</strong><br />
Morn<strong>in</strong>gs to S<strong>in</strong>gapore, the first chapter <strong>in</strong> Asia.<br />
A graduate from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Arts,<br />
Media and Communications, Grace has a passion for <strong>in</strong>spir<strong>in</strong>g young<br />
entrepreneurs and <strong>in</strong>dividuals to take action and make a change, no<br />
matter how big or small the action is. She is highly creative and<br />
br<strong>in</strong>gs a unique set of talents and connections to the table. Her goal<br />
of work<strong>in</strong>g with young entrepreneurs is to enable them to foster their<br />
ideas with the desire to create a future society of creative<br />
collaboration with<strong>in</strong> the Asia Pacific region
