The BMA is an alliance of over 80 faith-based
and community-based organizations with a
40+ year history of serving the Black community
in Boston. The BMA’s mission is to provide
spiritual nurture for clergy, and advocacy and
program services for the larger Black community.
Through its Boston Capacity Tank program
it redistributes funds and technical assistance to
build the capacity and strengthen faith-based
and community organizations. Through its
Victory Generation Program it supports afterschool
programs by providing spiritual nurture,
professional development, technical assistance
and program support that ensure the provision
of quality care and academic support to youth
ages 5-14.

Gordon-Conwell’s Boston campus, also known
as the Center for Urban Ministerial Education
(CUME), is particularly focused on equipping
urban pastors and church leaders for more effective
ministry and outreach in their own communities
and throughout the world. The Center
offers a Master of Arts in Youth Ministry
(MAYM) degree which is a twenty (20) course
program for persons who are called to minister
to young people in churches, community organizations,
and school related activities.
GCTS—Boston offers a unique program of
study for the training and equipping of men
and women reaching out to the youth at risk
in our cities. This program, called the Urban
Christian Streetworkers Certificate Program,
spans eight workshops/courses over two semesters.
The Center also has masters level degree
programs in education, counseling, and urban
ministry, as well as standard theological and
ministry degrees adapted to urban needs.

Roxbury Youth Program (RYP) – is a comprehensive
afterschool program serving about 50
at-risk middle and high school students. The
program provides tutoring, SAT classes, college
preparation, and use of computer labs. The
Summer Employment Program provides jobs
for 15-20 youth. Stand High/Stand United is
a weekend enrichment program for 50 youth
involving mentoring, field trips, arts projects,
and leadership opportunities.
United Souls is a program providing transitional
support to men involved with the criminal
justice system or struggling with other life
challenges.
