Small self-sharpening inserts have been strategically
placed between the heel row teeth. Gauge
Trimmers minimize cone shell erosion and rounded
gauge, allowing a bit’s cutting structure to retain its
drilling effectiveness as it wears.
Motor Hardfacing
Tungsten carbide particle hardfacing has been liberally
applied from the shirttail up the leg of the bit.
This extra protection allows MAX bits to hold
gauge better and resist the wear that comes with
high speed, directional drilling.
