Vaginoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that in the last few years is being <br />
requested with greater frequency. Some authorities state that this <br />
along with labioplasty, are the two cosmetic procedures with the <br />
greatest rate of increase in the recent past. With the increasing number <br />
of procedures and the novelty to many surgeons the complication rate <br />
will likewise increase. To avoid complications it is imperative to clearly <br />
understands what the patient wishes, to assess its validity, to formulate <br />
a plan that include preoperative preparation, precise execution during <br />
the procedure, recognition of complications during the procedure and <br />
postsurgically. Complications during surgery may be obvious and <br />
immediately repaired, other complications will present with time. In this <br />
lecture the most frequent complications will be presented along with <br />
how to avoid them and how to resolve them once they become evident. <br />
Some complications may be avoided in the preconception period and <br />
some will resolution after the procedure. If possible one should activate <br />
the least number of factors in accomplishing the patients desires and <br />
thereby bringing satisfaction and happiness as the end result. Non-surgical<br />
laser treatment being an option in some cases. <br />

This presentation will focus on Dyschromias, especially hyper <br />
pigmentation of the vulva area and its approach and treatment with a <br />
