I was the Lone Rookie of Spring 1994. It was in the fall when I was finally
forced to do a rookie skit, which I did with Lynne Stefanik and Rookie Kigin
on the back porch of Barb Lerch’s house on Glebe road. I recall a boustier,
whip and cape...not sure what the others were up to. I don’t remember much
of my rookie season except that I played on the wing and I scored a try my
first home game at Gravelly. I remember it vividly because the team started
yelling to put the ball down when I crossed into the try zone - I was going for
the middle but they thought I didn’t know I had to place it down. At the after
party, Barb taught me how to cut up lettuce and that remains my only official
culinary skill.
