BUSINESS
Advisable business for low capital
10 small Business ideas in the Philippines
for 2015
Living in the Philippines can be hard if
you are only looking in one direction, and
that is employment. Unemployed people in
this country, and age factor, it’s getting
harder to get employed. This is the reason
why other Filipino’s have already migrated
to escape poverty in this country. We
should also be thinking on how to invest
you hard earned money through a business.
I’m not saying that creating a business is a
sure way to earn a living. There is a blog I
read to encourage people to also create a
business and be an entrepreneur. Here is
the 10 business idea you can choose:

Pandesal business
So why pandesal? Pandesal is common bread eaten at
breakfast and it is second to rice which is for staple diet. It
also eaten as merienda or snacks. We don’t need eaten to
learn baking bread and various cakes on a bakery. You
can concentrate on one product. Just be sure that your
pandesal is quality bread and not selling for profit.
Food cart business
Many Filipinos is very interested in this business and
most of them, when they hear or see a food cart, what
they in mind is “Franchising”. Come to think of it, why
will you Franchise a food cart that is not well known or
never heard? Some people have the wrong perception of
this food cart. On the country, if you can set-up your own
food carts. If ever your business became popular someday,
you will become a franchise your business.
Meat shop business- Meat is common in wet markets. You can set up a meat shop business there side
by side with other many meat shop owners but what I
have in mind is setting it up away from the wet market
where there is less competition.

Tarpaulin printing business- For this business there is a good market and there are various ways a printed tarpaulin
can do. One very popular application is on food carts. Printed graphics on tarpaulin is very attractive and
it is tough too .On other occasions like birthdays, anniversary and even on a funeral tarpaulin and also for those
political candidates and national election.
CAD plotting business- A very specialized business for only caters to architects and engineers. Very similar to
a printer and the only difference is a printer. This printer can only print letter size or A4 size papers whereas a
plotter can print very large paper size. Designs and drawing made by an architect or engineer on draft paper the
size range from a very small 9x12 inches to 36x48 inches.
Ukay- Ukay business- it is selling used clothing. Some of
the used clothes are imported from other countries. Some of
the clothes are still brand new but didn’t pass the export
standard but still good. It only cost a fraction compared
when buying in department stores and boutique.
Halo-halo business- This is advisable business for summer.
Because this dessert is most irresistible to Filipinos even if it
is not summer we still crave for this dessert. That is why fast
food chains have this on their menu like Chowking, Mang
inasal and other fast food chains. The ingredients bananas,
macapuno, pinipig, sliced red and green gulaman, sago,
crushed ice, evaporated milk and slice of leche flan or ube

on top. If you want to try something unique, Try native halo-halo recipe, The ingredients are sweetened roots
crops, coconut meat and using coconut milk instead of dairy milk, if you want to cut the cost and sell it cheaper.
All you have to do is put the ingredients to glass or disposable halo-halo cups. I suggest buying portable electric
ice crusher that will save a lot of time and save more customers.
9.) Ice scrambles business- This is also advisable business for summer. Ice scramble business is very affordable,
you only need is to have food carts and a Tupperware container for the scrambles and buy scramble premix
powder , all you have to do is put crushed ice on it and mix it with an electric mixer until the desired consistency
is achieved.
10.) Cold beverages and juice business- A very simple kind of business with a good return of investment. Imagine
just concocting a simple beverage like gulaman, sago, buko juice, pineapple juice using a premix juice
powder or raw ingredients and you have already a business.

ARTICHOKES
( Are a Strange but Healthy Food )
Artichokes have been around for a long time. Originally found around the Mediterranean Sea, they were used
by ancient Romans to treat poor digestion. Somewhere along the line, the Romans realized artichokes also
made great appetizer, and they have been a traditional Italian food ever since. The Latin name for this greenish-purple
vegetable is Cynara scolymus. Sometimes called French or Globe artichoke, it’s the flower of the
plant that is sold in the grocery stores. But don’t confuse it with the Jerusalem artichoke, which is really a tuber
that grows in North America. One medium artichoke supplies 20% of vitamin C you need for a day. With
only 60 calories, its also a good source of potassium and magnesium, both important for a healthy heart. And
like most fruits and vegetables, its packed with disease fighting antioxidants that nutritionist rave about.
3 ways artichokes keep you healthy
Steps up digestion As it turns out, the ancient Romans were onto something when it comes to artichokes and
digestions. An ingredient in artichoke leaves helps you liver form bile – something necessary for good digestion.
If your liver doesn’t produce enough bile, your food doesn’t get broken down properly, and you end up in
stomach pains and indigestion.
If you feel sick to your stomach, overly full and have abdominal pain after eating a normal-sized meal, you may
suffer from Dyspepsia- a fancy name for poor digestion.
Several scientific studies showed dramatic improvements in people with dyspepsia after treated with artichoke
extracts. You can also get help for you indigestion the way the ancient Romans did – by eating a delicious
artichoke with your dinner.
Chokes out heart disease Bile from your liver does more than help you digest food.it also helps break down
cholesterol get by – kind of like the I love Lucy episode were the chocolate assembly line starts moving too fast
for her to keep up. People with liver problems can have high cholesterol even if they eat a low-fat diet.
Lowers blood sugar
You r liver is busier than you might think. In addition to breaking down fatty foods, it also restores extra glucose
in the form of glycogen and turns it back into glucose whenever it gets a phone call from your blood saying
that supplies are too low. This is a great system in a perfect working body.
Pantry pointers:

Choose artichokes with even, green color. Don’t buy any that look wilted, dried out, or moldy. Heavy, small
heads are best. Small artichokes are good for appetizers, and larger ones can be used stuffing with variety of
fillings and served as an entrée.
EAT GOOD FEEL GOOD

Had you ever tasted a flavor that hanker your tongue? Your taste buds will keep begging for more once the Capsicum
Frutescens touches your tongue. Dahon ng sili has an appetizing flavor when mixed with soup. Aside from
this, it is also a remedy for indigestion and relieves toxin from the body. It can help to lower blood sugar and
cholesterol levels. People who suffers from peptic ulcer and gastrointestinal problems may, this leaf is recommendable
for you. Women in their period, this is good news, it helps relieves menstrual cramps.
Malunggay consumption is generally accepted as safe. It is use to combat malnutrition especially among infants
and nursing mothers. Studies shown that Moringa Oleifera have an anti-tumor capacity. This means that malunggay
helps in prevention of cancer. This is considered in the treatment of prostate cancer and skin cancer
too. The miracle tree contains a compound “pterygospermin” that is known in medical science as having antimicrobial,
antibacterial and antifungal properties. Malunggay leaves, fruit and flower may also be cooked together
with other vegetable and meat.
Ipomea Batatas known as talbos ng kamote is one of the best and healthiest natural food that can easy to find in
the market. It promotes good health especially to people who were ill or who had undergone medical treatment.
It can be mixed with a soupy fish dish, you can make an ensaladang talbos and also put some kalamansi
and bagoong in boiled kamote. For sure you will like this dish.
Widely known as kangkong in the Philippines, Ipomea Aquatica is very nutritious and has many health benefits.
It has giid effect in the intestine as it has a purgative properties because of its fiber content.it also act as insulin
like properties to control blood sugar for diabetes prevention.people who wants to lose weight must try water
spinach because its known for its hemorrhoids to cure constipation.
The annual plant that can be bought in wet market by bunch or can be grown in backyard is very nutritious. The
saluyot is an edible vegetable considered safe for human and animal consumption. It is considered safe even for
pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. Saluyot leaves are dried and boiled to make a medicinal tea. Ilocanos
are known in preparing delicious dishes with saluyot. The most popular is dinengdeng. They’re even attributes
a youthful looks and long life in saluyot diet.
Prevention is always better than cure. Now, it doesn’t mean that eating a serving or two of these vegetable immediately
give you all the benefits it has. It takes time to benefit from plant nutrition and it has to be taken naturally. Some people
would probably think that sudden eating tons of leaves to get sudden health. It won’t work. It should be a lifestyle.
“Filipinos Exotic Food”

Filipinos absolutely love to eat. When it comes to
food, Filipinos can certainly offer something exotic to
the taste of people. If you’re tired of eating the typical
cuisine always served in carenderias and restaurants.
Here’s some kind of exotic food :
Tamilok
It Is woodworm found in driftwoods and is common in the provinces
of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur
and Davao provinces. Tamilok is not for the squeamish nor the faint of heart.

The experience of eating it is more risque than eating sushi. Forget raw, these
worms are eaten alive! The driftwood is chopped so you are able to extract
pink juicy worms measuring six to eight inches long. The worms are
then washed then dropped onto the tounge.
Fans love the clean taste and the tingling sensation through the digestive
tract. Shaking with both excitement and hesitation, I picked up my first
tamilok. Yes, it’s more macho to pick it up by hand rather than twirl it
around with a fork. I was half expecting the thing to burrow into my tongue
Why it’s so popular in Palawan? Well this is famous delicacy found in
Palawan and tamilok doesn’t look appetizing with rice, it is actually a good
dish for pulutan (food consumed while drinking). Most tamilok neophytes
need about a minute and some jeering from their friends before anyone attempts
to eat the dish. What is it? Well, it’s a fear-factor food, but we’ll tell
you all about it in a few moments. And they serve in Kinabuch Bar & Grill
in Palawan.
Betute Tugak in Pampanga

Pampanga is a province in the Philippines. The Philippines has been influenced by
their foreign colonizers but some of the unique Filipino cuisine still survives and one of them is
Betute Tugak which is essentially deep fried (rice field) frogs stuffed with ground pork.
This is one of the Kapampangan exotic foods which is served during the Frog Festival.
Betute is basically deep fried stuffed frogs. Kapampangan’s show pride with their betute because
of its uniqueness. This can be attributed to the fact that the frogs they use as main ingredient
for this delicacy are rice field frogs, which eat small insects. These are actually larger
than the normal frogs that are sold for food in most wet markets. However, smaller sized frogs
are still good enough to make betute.
Other say if they’re not familiar the meat mo frog is like an chicken meat. When I’d
taste it it’s not too bad why? Because the meat of frog are silimar to the chicken. I like the taste
and not expensive if you have a farm.

Adobong Uok
Head Balaw-Balaw Restaurants Angono, Rizal Jun Veneracion to try their own unique
dishes. Marinated uok, or beetle larvae, parched ants, or ants, salad and bougainvillea. What's
judgment Jun V strange food on the table? Here is just the Best Men. This is another exotic
adobo dish that you can try in the Philippines.
Uok is a beetle larva, which is an exotic dish in Angono, Rizal, the Philippines. This is
served with rice and tomatoes and will surely fill in your hungry stomach once you taste it.This
is serve into restaurant that cooked and they’re to familiar for those there in Angono, Rizal.
CROCODILE SISIG

Try the sizzling crocodile sisig, at first I was hesitant but the dare devil inside of me prevailed
not wanting to have any what if in my mind in the near future. In short I ate the sizzling
crocodile sisig and it's good although it's just like any ordinary meat and you'll never know the
difference if you are not aware that you are eating crocodile meat.
I never expected the crocodile meat to taste so good. It tastes like beef but leaner.
I really can’t say what it tastes like except it’s like a combination of chicken and beef.
KINUNOT NA PATING

Kinunot is a Bicolano delicacy usually made with Manta Ray (pagi), but also Shark (pating).
Take it from me, it’s YUM-MY! If you’re a fan of Laing or anything with Coconut Milk
(gata), you’ll probably like Kinunot. Now, we’re not saying go out and catch an endangered
species of shark and cook it up with your friends at a party, but if you do happen to find yourself
with a big ass shark in your possession, you’d better at least know how to prepare it right.
One of the Bicolano favourites food and weakness is to eat kinunot made of Manta Ray (Pagi).
Shark or pating can also be use as replacement to pagi.
If you considered and fan eating of laing is same as with a coconut milk or gata included
or out in the usual ingredient. You’ll be possibly love eating of this because it’s really the taste
were made by bicolano well known as good chef of gata.

SEA URCHIN (UNI)
“Tuyom” or "swaki" (depending on the variety) as it is locally called in Visayas, the sea
urchins are one of the major shellfish resources all over the world. It is also known as “kudenkuden”
in Bolinao and “maritangtang” in the Ilocos Region. And is recognized as a Japanese
delicacy called “uni” and considered as an exotic food in the United States and Southeast Asia.
The sea urchin is believed to have aphrodisiac properties. When eaten fresh as in “just out
of the sea fresh”, it has a sweet sea-salty taste.
A 100-gram portion of sea urchins, which is equal to about 3.5 ounces, contains 172 calories
and very little fat. And it’s very common in Visaya region especially near at seashore and when
low tide.

HOROSCOPE:
RAT: “There seem to be more hurdles for you to overcome, but fret not, things will work out at
the end of the day. You will meet important people who will help you in times of adversity, so
don‟t hesitate to seek help if you must. Although your environment is constantly changing, you
will make it through the storm as long as you keep calm and move on. It‟s good to keep a low
profile and avoid attracting too much attention, as it may also invite undesirable negative forces
into your way
Bull: “It isn‟t a very wonderful year for those born under the zodiac sign of Bull, as you may
meet some difficulties in almost all aspects of your life. However, you have to keep your spirits
up, and be cautious when it comes to decision-making. As the saying goes, slow and steady
wins the race: this how you should take on the year. Be careful of what you say or post online, it
might trigger unnecessary altercations. As long as you take a positive approach, this seemingly
bad year can be reasonably stable for you too.”

Tiger: “Don't be over-ambitious this year. Take one step at a time and be a little more patient
reaping the results of your hard work. If things don't work out after putting in all your effort, take
it positively. Think of it as a learning experience, as it will be useful to you in the future. Do not
gossips behind others‟ back because it will trigger off undesirable arguments. If you hold any
confidential secrets, keep them well and not let them turn into something that could haunt you
instead
Rabbit: “Your lucky star is shining brightly at you! You feel confident and empowered, and
therefore highly organised and motivated in anything you do. However, stay calm and rational at
all times. Only with a clear mind can you execute your plans seamlessly to perfection. Don‟t be
caught in any form of arguments and try to stay clear of taking sides.”
Dragon: “Be conservative in your approach in dealing with anything, or else you might easily
land yourself in a lawsuit. Opportunities and chances don‟t come easily, but your guardian angels
are watching, so be assured that things will only get better if you should meet with any adversity.
The key for this year is to keep your confidence level high, stay motivated and never
procrastinate or slack. Even staying in your comfort zone is not good enough to get you anywhere
Snake: “It is a year of uncertainties for the Snakes: unpredictable and busy. If you are always
staying at home and not going out to meet people, chances are you are missing out on many
other opportunities. However, with opportunity comes risk, so it‟s good that you meet people out
there with some reservations and be cautious of those with ulterior motives. As things aren‟t going
as planned, you might exhaust yourself in the process. Take extra care of your health and
get ample rest. Also, avoid water sports or activities as the element of Water is not compatible
with your zodiac sign this year
Horse: “Blessed with good luck, you will do well in your career and love life. Be hard-working,
be bold - nothing is impossible as long as you work hard enough. Although you don‟t exactly get
a huge monetary gain, things are working out as you have hoped. Remember to exercise to
keep yourself healthy despite your busy schedule.”
Sheep: “Contrary to common belief, it being the year of the zodiac itself doesn't necessarily
warrant a good prediction. For the Sheep, you might meet with many obstacles, unhappiness or
embarrassing episodes. Even with extra effort, things might not look as good as you have
planned. However, don't give up! All these are only momentary, take it as a „training‟ year and
you will be able to prepare yourself for all the goodness next year
Monkey: “Although your schedule is packed, you don‟t find yourself slowing down. Instead, the
more you work, the more energetic you get. This spur of energy is beneficial for your career, but
remember not to neglect your loved ones. You should also spend more time caring for your family
and friends, as they are precisely the ones providing you the support to work so hard! In
times of adversity, they will also be the ones helping you out. No matter how busy you might
get, bear in mind that you still need a personal life!”

Rooster: “As it is a smooth-sailing year for you, you might be stuck in your comfort zone both in
work and your love relationships. However, even when you are not doing much and staying put
where you already are, things will only get better! You could also consider taking a short break
and travel around the world. Travelling with your family could improve your relationships with
them.”
Dog: “Your zodiac constellation has come into a position that clashes with the star of the New
Year. It might bring you more unexpected inconvenience but you need to keep your cool and
make it through. In fact, as long as you are cautious and honest, the negativity will not be able
to affect you too much. For work, it is not a year for you to explore areas outside your expertise,
or else you might be easily conned. As long as you stay positive, the year will be better than it
seems
Pig: “Although it is the year of the Sheep, the Pigs are getting all the good luck instead. Minimum
input, maximum output. Things will be smooth sailing at work, and some small investments
will also reap a considerable return. However, this streak of good luck will not work on
unrealistic wishes, as things that are clearly not yours will never be yours. Also, pass on the
good fortune by helping others and it will only bring you even more good luck.”
The Manila leg of Ed Sheeran’s
Multiply Tour not just made local Sheerios happy, but a certain British ginger as well.
Words by Klara Iskra Añonuevo
Photos by Kris Rocha
“Honestly, honestly, hand in heart, a hundred percent, this is the best reception I‟ve ever had,”
said Ed Sheeran during the Manila leg of his Multiply Tour. I believe him. Because honestly,
both hands on heart, a hundred percent, that was the best concert I‟ve been to, and I‟ve been to
A LOT.
True, I‟ve said the same of shows past (including that of Fall Out Boy‟s and Taylor Swift‟s), but I
think, unless I manage to see another Ed Sheeran show, this “best” will stick for a lifetime.

As you may have already guessed, I‟m a Sheerio, or a big Ed Sheeran fan. So I took a vacation
leave on March 12, just so I could get to the Mall of Asia Arena early to get first dibs on official
merchandise and line up for the concert early. I was one of the firsts to enter the Arena, and my
enthusiasm paid off, because as the lights went down and everyone started running towards the
stage, I found myself front and center with only a person between me and the barricade. I
couldn't believe my luck.
MANILA, Philippines – Maroon 5 is coming back to Manila this September.
Maroon 5's special guest for the concert is the Swedish trio Dirty Loops. Formed in 2008, the
group became famous for their cover of Lady Gaga‟s “Just Dance” which went viral. The group
released their album Loopified last 2014 under Universal Records which carries the single “Hit
Me."
The Maroon 5 concert will be brought to the country by Music Management International (MMI
K-pop boy band EXO will be bringing their first solo concert tour to the Philippines, SM Entertainment
confirms.
While no definite date has been given, a source told Bulletin Entertainment that the group may
bring their “EXO From. EXOPlanet #1 – The Lost Planet” tour here in August.
The band kicked off the series of concerts in Seoul on May 23 to 25 with an estimated 40,000
fans present.
Suho, leader of subunit EXO-K, said the experience was quite nerve-wracking.
“This is our first solo concert and we know we have kept a lot of fans waiting… We are still
nervous,” he told the Korea Herald.
EXO-M‟s Lay added, “It was such a great feeling for us to hear that our concerts were sold out, I
thank all of our dedicated fans.”
EXO is also scheduled to perform in Hong Kong on June 1 and 2, China on June 14 and 28 and
Taiwan on July 11.
They will also visit Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Japan, according to Korean media.
At their press conference on May 25, some members talked about Kris, who will be not take part
in the concert after he sued SM Entertainment to nullify his exclusive contract.
Lay said that they “were all very shocked by the news.”
He added, “It happened so suddenly and one week before our show, so we were all very flustered
and heartbroken, but we will overcome this together.”
Baekhyun, for his part, said, “Personally I just wanted to say how proud I am of our members.
Despite all that has happened, we will not compromise these concerts.”

Imaginary Diploma
Sitting on the chair provided for us graduates of 2015, I‟m waiting for my name to be
called.
“Yexxa Marie Helfrinch” I heard my name being called by the emcees of our commencement
event. At last the big day of my life has come; walking to the center of the
stage to get my diploma is the proudest thing I‟ve ever done in my entire life. I can‟t explain
my feeling right now it‟s like seeing my crush with those butterflies in my stomach.
I saw my dad watching me until I get down on stage beside him is my mom crying from
afar. I can see the joy and happiness in their eyes they may be so proud of me. Their
sacrificing and providing the things I need in school is all worth it. Now I got my bachelor‟s
degree, after this I will get my first job and later on become successful. I can put
out my family up out of the mud.
The ceremony is just ended I hugged my former classmates saying “congratulations”
and “wish you all the best in life” for sure I will miss them. I will remember our laughers
and bonding‟s till the day I stepped in the University.
I can‟t help but to cry having this big stone in my heart that I can‟t breathe that was all
just from my imagination. I was thinking maybe that is the moment I need to cherish if I
didn‟t do such mistakes. I just hope I have a time machine to go back from the past and
make it right.
What if I didn‟t fall in love with him? Does my situation be like this maybe it‟s a big NO!
I felt this guilt for my family, envy for my friends and got pity for myself. I didn‟t make it
until the last. Watching my friends and classmates marching in their graduation day I
disappoint the people around me. So many knives stab my heart at the same time causing
me so much pain. Touching my not so big tummy, asking myself how I can be a
good parent to my child. This is not really the right time, but then I need to be the best to
raise my child.
I can‟t go back from the past and make it right but I can make things right today. This
child in my tummy is a blessing from above even though I got pregnant during those
days I‟m studying. I will raise a child who is guided by my mistakes for him/her not to be

like me in the future. The lesson that I have learned in my experience is that I should
study first before having a child so that I can give not a good future for him/her but also
to my family.
FOODS
Filipinos absolutely love to eat! When it comes to food, Filipinos
can certainly offer something exotic to the taste
buds. If you’re tired of eating the typical cuisine always
served in carenderias and restaurants, make a checklist
and try these Filipino exotic dishes that are worth a try.

Betute Tugak of PAMPANGA
. Ingredients are 8 big edible frogs (palakang bukid), 1/4 kilos ground pork, 3 cloves
of minced garlic,1/2 teaspoon salt (for pork stuffing), 1 tablespoon vinegar (for pork
stuffing),1/2 teaspoon ground pepper (for pork stuffing), 1 teaspoon of salt (for marinade),
4 tablespoon of vinegar (for marinade),1 teaspoon ground pepper (for marinade),
1 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar (for marinade)
How to cook:
1. In a bowl, combine the ground pork, minced garlic, salt, vinegar and ground pepper.
Set aside.
2. Clean the frog and remove the skin, head and cut the belly to remove the intestines.
3. Use the ground pork mixture as belly stuffing’s. Sew to prevent the stuffing’s from spilling out.
4. Mix the marinating mixture: salt, vinegar, ground pepper and brown sur.
5. Pour into the stuffed frogs.
6. Let it stand for 30 minutes.
7. The let it sun-dried for another 30 minutes.
8. Deep fry until golden brown.
9. Serve with fried rice or steamed plain rice.
Batute or Stuffed frog in english is also one of Kapampangan exotic dishes. They also call this as "tugak" around
Pampanga. It tastes like chicken and it's really good. Farmers in Pampanga used to depend on rain water to irrigater
their farms. Children would then catch the frogs, which came out during the rainy season, while their parents cultivated
the land or planted rice. Outwitting the frogs has been a traditional "family bonding" ritual. Betute is a play of
words on butete, which means "tadpole" in the local dialect. Betute is the entire frog stuffed with minced pork - so it
looks like a very fat frog. It is then deep-fried in oil

Adobong uok
Beetle larvae may not sound very appetizing at first, but uok cooked as adobo served with rice and
tomatoes is considered an exotic delicacy. One restaurant that serves this dish is Balaw-Balaw Restaurant
in Angono, Rizal.
Who would have thought that this bizarre looking dish would be so much enjoyed not only by the Filipinos
but also tourists coming from different parts of the globe?
Uok (native term) is basically a coconut rhinoceros beetle larva which can be found in dead coconut
logs. This fat, eerie worm can be eaten raw just like what the natives do in the forest. This creepy
creature is best when cooked in adobo style which is called "Adobong Uok" and is very tempting and
mouth-watering despite of its worm-like appearance. This exotic dish is very popular in some of the
places in the Philippines.
Adobong Uok was already featured in the show of Andrew Zimmern called "Bizarre Foods with Andrew
Zimmern" in Travel and Living Channel, where he described the taste as glutinous and earthy.
When I watched that episode, I was so delighted to try it for myself because I am really a big enthusiast
of exotic foods. The sense of tasting a gelatinous, sour, salty, and spicy adobong uok makes me
crave more for it.
This dish is being cooked with vinegar, soy sauce, and pepper. It is not eaten in an ordinary way. The
head should be removed first before sipping the inside of it.
It is popular in some restaurants which serves native and unusual dishes. This unusual dish would really
suit for those people who are very adventurous in feasting up bizarre foods like me.

Tamilok at Kinabuch in Puerto Princesa
The name "tamilok" come from the words of a foreign visitor in Palawan while they were
walking when they saw locals in Palawan eating the raw worms from the woods and they
are eating it with just vinegar. The visitor said "Tommy, look!". Since then, the woodworms
from mangrove trees, have been known as tamilok. Despite by its usual name of
worm, woodworms are not that usual worms that some people are getting disgusted at,
woodworms are molluscs, which is why they tend to have an oyster-like taste and texture
like "tulya". The tamilok is served kinilaw style cuisine, meaning it is raw, deep in vinegar
with spicy peppers, onions, and calamansi juice. . First a review on tamilok, it’s not so bad
as you think. If you eat oysters, then you would most find them to have similar taste. Others
say tamilok has a distinct wood taste, but maybe coz I dipped it in too much vinegar
that it masked that woody flavour.
How to enjoy eating it:
1. On a plate full of tamilok, pick a size that you can swallow.
2. Deep it into the the spiced vinegar.
3. Deep it in a while, get it from the vinegar.
4. Swallow or eat it carefully like a spaghetti. Taste it carefully and feel the it as you get it
in your mouth.
5. Say masabor gale! It means "delicious" in Palawan. And when your done with one, repeat
it again until you finished it all.

Crocodile Sisig in Kaonanan sa Tribu K' Mindanawan in Davao
This was one of the highlights of the tour in the Crocodile Farm in Palawan: The chance to
try something unique and realizing that this is one of the best food finds that everyone
should really enjoy.Interestingly, crocodile meat is very tender and has a flavor and consistency
similar to pork. Because of it, any spices mixed into the croc meat enhances its flavor. It
may look a bit oily, but it actually has a low calorie and fat value. it’s got more than
that, too !In the mood for some romance? Get some croc meat to spice up your love lifeThe
croc meat shines when it is turned into the Filipino bar chow favorite Sisig. The naturally
oily meat sizzles well with some chopped chili peppers and drizzled with calamansi. Goes
well with a crisp cold beer.A Quite expensive but definitely a good treat. In order to curb
the craving, everything was bought from the Palawan Crocodile Farm, all ready for the
trip back to ManilaGive it a try when you visit the Palawan Crocodile farm, or in some of
the few restaurants in the Philippines that already serve these exotic delicacies.

Kinunot na Pating (baby shark in coconut milk) at Samaral restaurant in Laguna
It's been almost a year that I am in between-jobs since we left Singapore. And I'm not sure
if I love being just a simple housewife. To tell you the truth, I started earning my own
money since 2'nd year in UP- Diliman and I've been a corporate slave since I earned my
bachelors degree. Being a house-wife is a mix of emotions, I am happy to stay at home and
do some house chores and cook for my husband and learn the ropes of cake and bread baking.
But there are times when I just stare at the ceiling wondering if my brains are still
functioning or will any company hire me again. Today, I have decided to find a job and
ways to make money :-) I need to look for a book about Warren Buffet. We are considering
investing but my husband and I do not know where to start. Any tips on investing, anyone?
Oh well, those are just some thoughts running in my mind before I decided to go on with
this post. Yesterday, we have posted Gising gising which is a hot and spicy vegetable
dish. Today we are posting Kinunot na Pating. Another fiery hot ginataan dish. Are we
going to post ginataan dishes this week? Since we already did for 2 consecutive days, why
not? So Ginataan it is for this week.
Kinunot may be considered as an exotic dish originating from the Bicol region since the
main ingredients for this dish, aside from the coconut milk, are fishes like pating (shark)
and pagi (sting-ray). What makes this dish interesting is that, like its relative
the Laing which is also a Bicol delicacy, this dish is awesomely and deliciously fiery hot. So
better prepare a few liters of fresh milk or any milk drink fresh milk to cool off the heat of
this fiery fish dish. Before I forgot, the name kinunot comes from the word kunot which
literally means shredded or to shred.
By the way, the baby shark we cooked doesn't belong to the endangered species of shark :-
) and we didn't waste anything, well, except for the innards its fish bones and skin, and
some of its fins .

Kilawing Talaba
What better way to end the Lenten season than to hold a poncia?Poncia is the general term
for a party in Pangasinan, but one that is centered around food. It is a party on a grand
scale, and as I mention in this blog time and again, it is an undertaking by an entire
barrio or barangay – people come to help in the preparation and cooking of the handa,
or the dishes to be served, down to the plating and serving, and of course everybody comes
during the ponciato partake of the food. The Tagalog equivalent of the
term poncia is handaan, which generally means a preparation, but has evolved to mean a
preparation of food to be served, and eventually has come to mean the serving of food during
a party, much the same way as what poncia denotes.A poncia and a handaanboth refer
to big celebrations usually associated with the sacraments and the practice of one’s faith –
wedding, baptism, fiesta, birthday, anniversary of all sorts, commemorations after a death
(pasiyam, 40 days, babang-luksa).
There may be a short ritual during the party, maybe some speeches, but the main event is
the food and the eating. Because the poncia is traditionally held at the house of the host, tables
are usually short so that one has to leave immediately after eating to give way to those
still waiting to be seated.
The preparation for the poncia usually starts more than 24 hours before the event.

SEA URCHIN (UNI)
Red sea urchins - the largest sea urchin in the world and are found only
along the rocky sub-tidal Pacific shores of North America. The bright red or
burgundy animals graze on kelp and many other available organic materials.
They are harvested for their soft tissues known as "uni", a highly valued
seafood delicacy. Uni is a signature sashimi item in Japanese cuisine but is
also used as a flavour enhancer in soups, custards and seafood dishes in
many other cultures. Sea urchins from the clean cold Pacific waters of B.C.
produce some of the world's sweetest uni. Live Sea Urchin Salesinformation
REVERIE
You and I in the world I create
Together as one without any limit
Lying in the magical world of fantasy
Mistake of yours, I can’t see
Making impossible things to be possible
To be with you in my entire imagination
My only wish from the skies
That I won’t hear you telling goodbyes
But it’s the other way around
We can never stand in the same ground
We can never be together
And there’s no word of forever
Maybe this is not our destiny
To live in the world I called fantasy
Because there is what they called reality
That you and I are not meant to be

DARK HEART
The first time I met you
You say the words “I love you”
Getting my whole attention
You didn’t tell me your whole intention
Casting on me a magical spell
Living my life like a hell
No one can ever know
The darkness you’ve ever show
Hidden secret of your past
Become boundaries setting us apart
I hope you didn’t exist
You destroy my heart and act as a beast
One thing is for sure
That no one can ever cure
The pain that you’ve cause
And myself that I’ve lost
DepEd Gears up for K to 12 Full Implementation
"On this 5 th year of K to 12 implementation, we are running a marathon and I can already see the
finish line. We are on our last mile," said Education Secretary Br. Armin Liston FSC after presenting
a midterm report to the 16 th Congress on the K to 12 Basic Education Program.
In his presentation, Luistro outlined developments in the implementation of the K to 12 Program,
specifically, the provision of fundamental education inputs from 2010 to 2014. He asserted that,
“All 220 divisions of the Department of Education (DepEd) have finished planning and have figures
on enrolment a year in advance. Plans were reviewed per division and against national figures
then we took results and consulted with industry representatives.”
Since 2010 to 2014, DepEd has filled 128,055 new teacher items and constructed a total of
88,805 classrooms. DepEd expects 1.2M to 1.6M students from public high schools to enter
Grade 11 in 2016 and 2017.
Out of 7,914 public high schools, DepEd identified 5,020 as potential Senior High Schools that
are expected to accommodate 1.6M to 2.2M students. The remaining 800k to 1M students are
expected to go to non-DepEd providers such as private high schools, private HEIs, SUCs and
LUCs offering Senior High School.
“The curriculum is done and it is the first time in history that it can be accessed in its entirety in
the DepEd website,” Luistro said. He added that while it is complete, the Department welcomes
feedback from the public. He maintains that education is everyone’s responsibility.
Amid claims that a number of teachers stand to be unemployed because of the K to 12 Program,
Luistro gave his assurance saying, "The situation is manageable. We will be hiring an estimated
30,000 to 41,000 high school teachers for 2016 and 2017 and we will give priority to the displaced
teaching and non-teaching staff."
In his closing remarks, House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. vowed to block attempts by Congress
to suspend the K to 12 Program’s implementation saying, “We in Congress have given
them the law and it cannot be suspended. Based on the discussion today, I think they are on the
right track.”
Regional planning sessions

The ARMM event is the last in a series of planning sessions for SHS implementation. Beginning
with the National Capital Region (NCR), Region 3, and Region 4A, the DepEd Central Office
SHS Implementation Team sat down with regional and division planning officers, SHS coordinators,
and local education officials to identify potential SHS, determine track offerings per school
that are relevant to the communities, and list down resource requirements.
DepEd aims to have at least one DepEd SHS per city or municipality by June 2016.
The SHS curriculum contains four tracks that learners and schools may choose from: technicalvocational-livelihood,
academic, sports, and arts & design, which would help prepare graduates
for higher education, entrepreneurship, further middle-level skills development, or work. All
tracks contain a core curriculum that would enable graduates to pursue higher education should
they wish.
“THE BOXING FIGHT OF THE CENTURY”
(THE DREAM FIGHT)
Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather, called as the "Fight of the Century", is an upcoming
boxing match between the undefeated, five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
and the eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao.
Despite the all predictions that Mayweather-Pacquiao would be the highest greatest fight in
the history as early as on 2009
The disagreements between the two boxers' champion on the terms for the fight prevented the
short time from the coming to end result until 2015.
The failure to make the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight was called the named of The Ring magazine
Event of the Year for the 2010.
However, the conference for the superfight in 2015 have since been canot be finalized, with all
of the major issues that have prevented during the fight from the happening in the past now
cannot be resolved, including the all prize split, drug testing, and the location of the session.

On February 20, 2015, Mayweather confirmed on the social media that the fight had really
been signed. And the contest was agreed to be held on the May 2, 2015.
Manny Pacquiao embrace his role as the underdog and he said that on Tuesday that he knows
exactly how to deal with somebody like Floyd Mayweather as well as and his ring antics.
And It has also been called boxing’s biggest fight ever with the fighters dividing the 200 million
dollar prize but although Mayweather will get the bigger piece after their 60-40 arrangement.
Mayweather is a defensive master boxnig fighter and Pacquiao feels the unbeaten US boxing
fighter will lean heavily on this skill when they finally get it on at the MGM Grand arena.
They told about the possible scenario of Mayweather walking back to his trainers that he never
really wanted the fight, But Pacquiao broke out a cheerful laugh.
Then Pacquiao told some of Mayweather’s trademarks, including the famed shoulder roll and
the his penchant to use the ropes as a protection from tiredness.
But Once Mayweather resorts to either of the two, Pacquiao promises to keep under control an
super of power punches from all angles of the fight.
said Pacquiao that “More punches, more chances of winning,”, whose team up with the return
of his coach Freddie Roach for the second straight day proved to be another satisfying one for
the Hall of Fame corner man of the fight.
While Pacquiao was last labeled as the underdog when he faced Oscar De La Hoya in the 2008.
And Mayweather also will not have to be reminded what happened to Oscar. The famous boxer
quit in the seventh round of the fight .
Everything about the May 2 battle between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao involves a
lot of money.
And Make that, lots and lots of money.
Even the fight tickets, something that Pacquiao gave away to the friends of friends of friends,
will be hard to come through
The Top rank chief Bob Arum said on the Tuesday that “everyone’s buying his own ticket” to
get into the MGM Grand Garden Arena, but the 16,000- plus set venue that will host the famous
welterweight duel.

The MGM Grand is entitled to a share, while a Mayweather promotion, the lead organizer, is
the also has a certain percentage sure.
While Even Top rank and Pacquiao would get theirs but the number will be largely lower compared
to the previous fights.
In the past, Pacquiao is also bought tickets in largeness to accommodate his associates, friends,
and the showbiz personalities from here and overseas as well also as the political from the
Philippines.
While Even the closed circuit viewing in theMGM Grand- associated properties along of the
strip will be come at a hard price.
This is the indeed an the interesting fight but it is a totally different fight compared to if it had
taken place six years ago.
Back then the Executioner was hungry for the fame and glory; the Pacman´s fierce fighting style
was a delight and the aggressiveness of the Filipino warrior had no match.
But in the six years later the Congressman has changed and now he is more than a thinking
boxer puncher than the beast he used to be.
As for the Floyd he still is pretty much the same boxer, maybe he might have the lost a little
speed but he still is fast; and definitely has better footwork and also have is a better boxer than
Tim Bradley and the Chris Algieri.
In this picture shows that mayweather and pacquiao have a news conference on Wednesday in
los angeles and also the pop star justin bieber is in the picture.
The next time the two boxers will see each other will be on the fight week.

But many citizen had a opinion that pacquiao will be lose on the fight.
and also Only a good fight can make the fans happy because they will watch the fight for a price.
As for the Pacquiao and Mayweather loyal fans it is the almost impossible to reason with them of why
one of them would lose, because a fan will never be accept his fighter is the underdog and is more likely
to lose the session.
the demanding but the Boxing Industry might as well survive thanks to these loyal fans and at the same
time to their caoach
so they see what will be the results of this, fight of the century on the may 2 2015.
let see what will be gonna happen.
its either Mayweather will win or Pacquiao boxing champ will win this fight.

“THE HISTORIC CHAMPIONSHIP OF VOLLEYBALL”
The Ateneo Lady Eagles are on just one step closer from once again of the rewriting in the history.
In another game and show of the strength; the Lady Eagles overwhelming a happiness of La Salle side,
25-18 , 25-19, 25-19, and moved a win from keep their woman’s volleyball championship at the Smart
Araneta Coliseum.
Despite the playing for the first time in 21 days, the Lady Eagles were are all practicing right from the
start as the higher game intensity of Alyssa Valdez on her teammates, after the Lady Archers with all
short of shots.
So after that only 74 minutes of the game, the Lady Eagles were do again on the winning of another glory
of the game.
The disadvantage of the La Salle is the absence of La Salle top spiker Ara Galang made the game of Valdez
and the game intensityis a bit easier and quicker.
Valdez had a higher intensity in the game for the 25 points is recorded and highlighted by the 22 strong
spike and a two blocks to lead the Ateneo’s victory game in the front of so many fans and have a 6,825
fans. Michelle Morente was also had a higher game intensity and she also a impressive player of the
Ateneo player, with have a contribution of an 8 points while another player of Ateneo Amy Ahomino and
Bea de Leon was a combining points for the 13 points.

The Ateneo can finish off the La Salle with a victory game on Saturday at the Mall of Asia, the place
where the Lady Eagles overcame the chances that the last season of women volleyball are all erasing by
the Lady Archers’ of the thrice to beat game.
But this time, the Ateneo will be challenge to become a first team since 2004 to win championship with a
perfect record on the women volleyball game.
By the way, the La Salle was also the last team to drag of the trick they made in the game and when it was
the declaring a champion after winning the elimination round of the game.
While the Ateneo is going in through a victory, the La Salle will be suffered a miserable game in the afternoon.
The La Salle will be struggled a big time with a minus of Galang, who will be tore both of her game in
during their knockout steps of a victory over National University on the last Saturday.
While is Galang watched the game from the bench wearing a casual wear, and also even she take time to
speak with the team during the game timeouts.
But even her a new role of cheerleading her team cannot and couldn’t lift her teammates in a victory.
But another injury hit the La Salle, this time from the Camille Cruz, who also had a to be escorted back to
the bench while of after hurting her right knee late in the third set of the game.
The Lady Eagles complete a Season and also they win the game and have bag their second championship
in the women's volleyball game.
The Ateneo Lady Eagles also completes a clean sweep of the game of the Women's Volleyball seasons
and also repeat as champions.
The Ateneo Lady Eagles will be have a repel of the rivals the De La Salle Lady Spikers, on the score of
the 25-22, 25-17, 25-23, and they will be, to be complete a season game and bag their second consecutive
championship in the women's volleyball tournament game on the Saturday, on March 14 at the Mall of
Asia Arena.
While the Unlike last year's have a very long and a straight of the path to the get top, the Lady Eagles
were in a control this whole of the entire season and have a game of the barely game and of gave up sets
on their way to the 16-0 scores.
The Lady Spikers were the last team to defeat the all of the season and they will win the title in the 2004
and after that a 14-0 score and become the out and a right champions in the game.
The Back-to-back season of the MVP Alyssa Valdez has a awesome game spike and a high 20 points and
also have the including 19 points of to lead the Lady Eagles.
While as Ahomiro, who also had a 3 service ace, was the Finals MVP.
The a injury-player Lady Spikers squad, who have lost team captain and ace scorer of Ara Galang as well,
and it was a hard problem to give the defending champions a much of the fight.

The Lady Eagles is broke down the Lady Spikers' net towards to the end of the set of a 1 as they ran a La
Salle side that they scored.
But in the set 2, the Ateneo broke the game in the wide of open and the erased La Salle's blocking will
be completely to lead by the 18-10 points. The Lady Spikers will tried to come back the game and into
within 20-16 points but the Lady Eagles were too quick points to defeat the Lady Spikers .
The La Salle, which will had a improved game in showing a overall and has played with more energy
compared to the Game 1, but reserved it close again in the third game, even they leading by a 12-9 score.
But Valdez led a 4-0 points and have a charge to continuing the control of the game and simple to went
on the game and to control the rest of the game .
By an injury happened on the Lady Spikers team, who have lost the team captain and also ace scorer Ara
Galang as well, it was the hard-pressed to give the defending champions led by back-to-back champion
of the MVP Alyssa Valdez much have the fight of the game.
But on the final game it seems the ateneo had a lucky day to give, because they all have a perfect the set
on the game, and they maintained score and higher spikes include the blockers, so in the end quarter the
ateneo win the game with a big happiness with their coaches and staff.
The ateneo had a big game over La Salle and they are all great players in the volleyball game.
Whatever happens in the game, both teams ateneo and La Salle have a good game play in the final’s
game.
But ateneo win the game and had a historic champion in the volleyball game in our UAAP seasons.
In this picture shows that the ateneo happy because of their winning, but it seems that they worth it and
they improved their skills in the volleyball game.
Many of their fans, was happy because of their winning, some of they prepared their cheer for them, and
they worth it to win.
In the after the game, there great libero is graduating this year,so that they give her chance to thank her
fans I the last time.

ateneo wins and they all had a high prize given.
Maybe this year, is the lucky day of the ateneo to win the game.
and also they should be thankful to there coach, because they learn more a lot from there coach and also
they improved there skills and there spike skills.
in the side of La Salle, maybe they cannot have this championship and also maybe they will be improved
a lot In another year.
from both teams. all I can say is in this quote:
“Love and enjoy the game, it is not about winning, it is about how you enjoy and also how you improved
you self and also other people”
from: Ranque Jholina
