The Monarch Center, located in Georgetown, Colorado is introducing a menu of
programs in addition to their flagship wilderness therapy program. "Often time's families
leave here and they want more! They want a way to bring it home, condense it and pay
less for it," says Lori Ventimiglia, Co-Founder of Monarch with her husband Dave.
Many families in need of Monarch's unique family and community approach to treating
at-risk teens have never been able to access Monarch's services at all, as the cost of
the wilderness therapy program has a high price tag. "While we strive to have one
scholarship student in our program at all times, we simply can't extend that offer to all
families who can't afford it. For a long time now we have wanted to expand our services,
to offer more and be able to serve families with a variety of budgets," says Ventimiglia.
Now that the Monarch Center will offer an expanded menu of services as outlined
below, they are truly offering something for everyone.
Family & Community Intensive:
Has teen angst, divorce or emotional instability touched you and your family recently?
This 2-day intensive might be for you if you are struggling with your child but are not
wanting to place him/her in an out of home placement, or if you have a family
member(s) who is struggling and in need of a therapeutic intervention.

At Monarch Center, we recognize the value of treating the Whole Family and creating a
community of support and genuine contact. This two-day intensive will treat the family
system as a whole in an exploration through the dynamics that have contributed to your
family's pain and dysfunction. To coordinate this intensive you will gather your family
and, if desired, your extended family, therapists, school counselors or close friends to
join you in this work. Monarch's talented staff will come to you in your hometown to help
end destructive family patterns and build a more meaningful and supportive community.
Crisis Intervention:
Sometimes you just need a 24-hour cool off period from your adolescent.
When things have gotten to a fever pitch and, for everyone's safety, you just need a
brief separation, call Monarch. If you live in a 100-mile radius of our Georgetown,
Colorado headquarters we will escort and supervise your child while you get some
space and plan your next steps.
Leadership Expeditions:
These Expeditions vary in time and location and focus around leadership and
immersion in a meaningful community service endeavor facilitated by Monarch's highly
qualified staff. Social events and cultural education round off these unique and enriching
adventures!
