DeWitt Technology Student Association (TSA):
Application Part 1 is due Friday, Oct. 4
Is your student interested in engineering, technology,
robotics, inventions, and the like? If so, the application
period for DeWitt’s Technology Student Association
(TSA) is now open!

DeWitt “Bring Your Family to School Night” -
Thursday, October 3
** Food Donations and Volunteers Needed! **
The PTA will again provide snacks in the cafeteria
during Bring Your Family to School Night at DeWitt on
the evening of Thursday, October 3.
This year’s schedule is:
6th Grade: 6 to 7:10 pm
7/8th Grade: 7:30 to 8:50 pm
Can you help?
We are seeking:
• donations of single-portion size items such as
crackers and cheese, apples, carrots, cookies,
celery, grapes, etc...your homemade specialty or
favorite store-bought easy-to-munch item is
greatly appreciated.
• volunteers to help set-up, clean-up, and/or staff
the refreshments tables during the event.

any way. We appreciate anything you can do – every
little bit helps us all!

Dewitt Math Club
For the past few years, there has been a group of Dewitt
students meeting weekly to work on math together and
prepare for the Mathcounts and AMC math
competitions. Last year this was organized informally,
mostly outside school, but in 2011-2012 there was a
Dewitt math club which met after school with a few
parents as advisors. This year we hope to organize again
as a club which would meet at Dewitt after school one
day per week.
This year we plan to participate in Mathcounts and AMC
again, and also Math Olympiad. The club meetings
would primarily be sessions of solving problems similar
to those from these competitions. The details of when
and where we will meet are still being worked out.
Dewitt students in all grades who want to exercise their
math knowledge and learn a few new things too are
invited to join.
Fight Cancer - Join the DeWitt Middle School Team
We are trying to start a DeWitt Middle School Team to
do the Cancer Resource Center Walkathon on October
26. Soooo, check your calendar and if you can, let's do
this thing together. It starts at 9:00am at Cass Park.

Please tell us if your child is interested in joining the
group. We are also looking for another parent or two to
attend meetings on a regular basis to help out.
