Deep purple-red colour, delivers a fine yet quite complex & fruity (cherry) bouquet with discreet toasted notes. Roun, well-layered structure & excellent length. 206 Côtes Du Rhône Cuvée Prestige Vieilles Vignes 2011 £39.50 Domaine Roger Perrin, Southern Rhône This prestigious cuvée is made from a selection of very old vines (+ 45 years), found very close to the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. An intense garnet robe. A complex nose with a whiff of “La Garrigues”, red & black fruit, pepper & hints of white tobacco. Middle pallet is fat & ample with a long & persistent finish. Enjoy with: Lamb, Roasted Grilled & red meat, Game,Wild fowl, Strong cheeses, Spicy dishes. 206 Fleurie 2011 £39.50 Domaine de Robert, Beaujolais Beaujolais offers elegance and the village of Fleurie adds richness and complexity. Floral aromas, concentrated red berries, very rounded in the mouth, with silky tannins on the finish. 206 Marqués de Riscal Reserva 2008 £42.50 Rioja, Spain Cherry-red colour with good robe. Spicy, balsamic aromas of great complexity, with notes of ripe dark berries & light toasted nuances. On the palate it is full & tasty, with good structure & rounded, elegant tannins. 243 Chianti Classico 2006 £45.00 Tenuta di Arceno Definitive Chianti now beautifully mature with flavours of dark lush plums & ripe black cherries. Perfectly delicious with dry aged beef, game or cheese. 238 Monteregio di Massa Marittima D.O.C. 2008 Grape Conti di variety San Bonifacio, Maremma Toscana Grape variety: Sangiovese 85%; Syrah 10%; Cabernet Franc 5%. Wonderful aromas of blackberries, blueberries & flowers follow through to a full body. Mineral undertones. Dense & full in the palate, with velvety tannins & a fruity finish. £47.50 232 Passagem Quinta de la Rosa 2006 £49.50 Quinta das Bandeiras, Douro, Portugal Traditional port varieties, mainly Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca. The wine was matured in Allier French oak casks, mainly Francois Freres, Taransaud and Seguin Moreau, for 18 months before being bottled in 2007. It is a very expressive, almost seductive, wine with obvious mature, dark cherry fruit flavours whilst retaining an attractive freshness. 225 Château La Gorce 2001 £49.50 Cru Bourgeois, Medoc The dark purple colour, translates perfectly the richness of this wine. The aromas are those of concentrated ripe fruits. In taste, its richness and the density are dominated by roundness, consistency, volume and fullness. The tannins are long and soft, reassuring an optimal ageing. 45% Cabernet Franc, 50% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon Franc & Petit Verdot 257 Légende Médoc 2010 £49.50 Barons de Rothschild, Medoc Légende Médoc is made with all the care & attention that goes into the making of a Grand Cru. The (mainly Cabernet Sauvignon) grapes come from selected plots & are required to meet the highest standards: yields are strictly limited – only perfectly ripe, healthy grapes that have reached optimum maturity are used. Ageing takes place in barrel. Légende Médoc offers the wine drinker all the hallmarks of a Cabernet Sauvignon dominated Bordeaux, without the need for long ageing.

The 2008 exhibits notes ofBlueberries, raspberries, & graphite along with terrific fruit, great body, good acidity. Finishes with powerful but ripe tannins & excellent length. £52.50 254 Tenuta Frescobaldi di Castiglioni Toscana IGT 2010 £55.00 Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi, Toscana, Italy Intense ruby-red with purplish highlights. Cherry, strawberry & plum are the protagonists on the nose with hints of cinnamon, pepper, nutmeg & coffee in a supporting role. The palate is warm, but fresh with minerality underpinning the convivial, mouth-watering fruit. 255 Château Peyre-Lebade 2010 £62.50 Cru Bourgeois Haut Medoc Château Peyre-Lebade wines feature the fruity & fleshy characteristics specific to the Haut-Médoc appellation. They are nonetheless distinguished by the high Merlot content, which makes them particularly supple. From Benjamin de Rothschild. 218 Château des Laurets 2010 £65.00 Barons de Rothschild, Saint-Emilion Spicy exotic nose with vanilla, hazelnuts & cocoa. Opens up with a nice earthy minerality & polished fruit. Wonderfully juicy & nicely textured on the palate with good length. Soft & fine tannins. Really delicious to drink now, but tannins will soften further over the next couple of years. From Baron Edmond de Rothschild. 218 Songlines Shiraz 2005 £65.00 McLaren Vale, South Australia 94/100 points from James Halliday. Crafted by the legendary David Fatches & John Duval from the very best 40-110 year old Shiraz vines in the McLaren Vale. Wonderful complex aromas with intense & elegant black fruit & spice. 261 Lucente 2010 IGT £67.50 Luce della Vite, Montalcino Intense ruby-red with purplish highlights. With an expressive nose of creme de cassis, liquorice & spring flowers there is a juicy texture & balance only found in top vintages. 214 Château Rahoul 2005 £70.00 Graves Bordeaux,France The 2005 is a very serious wine indeed – as anyone who is a collector of fine wine will recognize instantly. Great concentration of colour and fruit and plenty of supple tannins to give maturity and gravitas. This is now at a perfect stage of maturity. 226 Vacqueyras Grenat Noble 2006 £70.00 Domaine Le Clos des Cazaux, Southern Rhône This wine is the result of extraordinary climatic conditions & is only produced in years when "Noble Rot" occurs in one special part of the vineyard. Aromas of fig, honey & Mirabelle; intense black fruit flavours; rich & versatile enough to accompany dishes from Lamb to Foie Gras poelé! 100% Grenache 50 year old vines. 208 Sustinet Shiraz IGT 2008 £72.00 Conti di San Bonifacio, Maremma Toscana Grape variety: Syrah 100 %. Intense deep red, decisively spicy with aromas of white pepper, cherry, plum & herbaceous nose. Round in the mouth, the acidity is balanced by the sweetness of the tannins; the finish is fresh with notes of nuttiness.
