the wines have been broken down into 

two price brackets – £4.00-£9.99 

and £10.00-£15.00. 

Within those price bands, you’ll find dry whites 

from the Graves and Entre-Deux-Mers regions, as well 

as those blended from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon 

grapes grown across the region. At their simplest, 

these wines are dry, crisp and refreshingly fruity – 

great matches for plain grilled fish and salads. The 

more sophisticated wines have a rich, weighty texture 

that marries beautifully with heavier fish dishes, 

white meats and pasta in creamy sauces. 

Reds range from simple Bordeaux blends, which 

can be made from grapes grown right across the 

region, from the Médoc to Entre-Deux-Mers and 

beyond, to sophisticated reds from up-and-coming 

satellite regions like Côtes de Castillon and Côtes de 

Bourg as well as the prestigious appellations of 

St-Estèphe, Margaux and St-Emilion, among others. 

Some of these wines will be based on Cabernet 

Sauvignon, while others will contain more Merlot, but 

all will have the perfumed elegance for which 

Bordeaux is famed. These are the ultimate Sunday 

lunch wines, perfect partners for roast lamb or beef, 

but because they’re made in a fruity, enjoyable style, 

they’re equally at home with a simple plate of bangers 

and mash.
