GREAT LAKES TRADE EXPOSITION January 8-10, 2007 • DeVos Place • Grand Rapids, MI The Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association, the Michigan Turfgrass Foundation, and the Michigan Forestry & Park Association have combined their annual conferences to present the 2007 Great Lakes Trade Exposition (GLTE). The GLTE brings together unprecedented educational programming and certification opportunities for all segments of the green industry, as well as the largest green industry trade show in the state. Now that these three statewide organizations have joined forces, attendees will have exposure to over 90 educational sessions and more than 350 exhibitors in over 600 booths. Press releases, advertisements, and announcements for the GLTE will be placed in major industry publications, including local and regional trade journals and association newsletters. In addition, more than 13,500 industry professionals will receive registration information. With expected attendance of 6,500 Green Industry professionals from all segments, you can't afford to miss this Midwest event. Schedule of Events Monday, January 8, 2007 Move-in scheduled by MNLA (by appointment) Tuesday, January 9, 2007 Show hours: 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2007 Show hours: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. DeVos Place, Grand Rapids Features of the DeVos Place are: Exhibit Space: Over 162,000 square feet of column-free, single-floor exhibit space provides a convenient and highly functional setting for exhibitors. Move-in/Move-out: There is loading dock access with 12 enclosed truck bays for warmth and ease while moving in and out. Truck Wash: An inside truck wash will eliminate the need to hand-clean or worry about water and dirt in your booth. Parking: A 700-space underground parking garage with an additional 7,000 parking spaces within a five minute walk eliminates the worry for exhibitors and attendees to get to the trade show. Education: All education is held in the DeVos Place directly across from the exhibit halls. The educational sessions are scheduled around the trade show hours making the GLTE the only trade show in the state to offer exhibitors the opportunity to attend education and get exclusive time with a broad spectrum of horticultural professionals. Networking: All guests of the Great Lakes Trade Exposition will be housed in one location, the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. Networking opportunities will be abundant as the DeVos Place, hotel, restaurants, and entertainment are all accessible by an enclosed heated skywalk. The 2007 GLTE will continue to provide exhibitors with an exceptional opportunity to acquire new leads and to make sales. Exhibits With 604 booth spaces available (and an additional 122 spaces in the expansion area), the GLTE offers exhibitors a unique opportunity to see thousands of green industry professionals at one time. These exhibits will include: all types of nursery and landscape materials, equipment and products (trees, shrubs, bedding plants, decorative materials, mulch, hardscape materials, irrigation products, outdoor furnishings, turfgrass and arboricultural products), and industry software/hardware supplies. Booth Information Exhibits are not to exceed 8 feet in height, and side projections at the 8-foot height may not extend forward from the rear of any booth more than 2 feet. Space that is 2 feet in front of the rear line may not have displays higher than 42 inches. Exposed rough work on sides of exhibits shall be properly covered. No exhibit shall be set in place so as to obstruct the general view of others or the flow of traffic in the aisle. Exhibitor signs will be prepared at the expense of the exposition and will not exceed 9 inches by 44 inches in size. Only the aisles in the hall will be carpeted, so plan accordingly for your comfort. An undraped 8-foot table and two chairs, backdrops, side rails, and booth sign will be provided with each exhibit space. If you do not want your table and chairs, please deduct $24.00 from the price of each purchased space. A forklift will be available for move-in and move-out, compliments of the GLTE. No nails, screws, or bracing wires may be used without the consent of the show manager. All property destroyed or damaged by exhibitors must be replaced in its original condition by the exhibitor or at the exhibitor's expense. Space Assignment Booth assignments will be made on May 1, 2006. All initial and “filling” requests for dropped key locations will be determined by the following factors in the order in which they are listed. 1. Is the exhibitor an MNLA, MTF, or MFPA member? 2. Is the exhibitor requesting the same space as the previous year? 3. How many years seniority does the exhibitor have? 4. What is the firm's involvement with the MNLA, MTF, and/or MFPA? 5. When was the contract and deposit received in the MNLA office? Key locations will be determined by the show manager and the GLTE Committee. An exhibitor requesting the same space as 2006 cannot be bumped by an exhibitor with more seniority. If a particular space is not requested by the 2006 exhibitor prior to May 1, 2006 that space will become available and its assignment will be based on the criteria above. After May 1, the availability of remaining spaces will be known and, if possible, requests for expansion and improvement will be processed. Requests for space received after May 1, 2006 will be assigned in order of contract requests and deposits. Only firm financial commitments will be considered. Exhibitors requesting space after September 30, 2006 will pay 100 percent of the booth cost with the filing of their contract. Storage Each exhibitor is responsible for the transportation, storage, and assemblage of their display material, which may be readied and set in place the day of move-in as soon as the backdrops and side rails are set in place to receive materials. The Exhibition Center offers storage of exhibit-related material during the exposition. Located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, this hotel is connected to the DeVos Place, restaurants, and entertainment by a climate-controlled pedway. Discounted room rates are being offered.
