The Dream That’s Working
In October 2011, Earvin “Magic” Johnson was the featured speaker for our
joint fundraiser with Urban Ventures, “The Dream That’s Working.” “Magic”
took the time to address our students in an all school assembly before the
event. He encouraged students to continue in their studies and to work
hard despite adversities. “You may be poor, but don’t have poor dreams.”
