Skyline Studios is synonymous with quality inspired recording and mixing in the
Oakland, East Bay, San Francisco Bay Area. Our Grammy credentialed team of
experienced engineers and producers work with independent artists, record labels, ad
agencies, the film industry, high tech and corporate clients on a wide variety of projects
with varying budgets. We are located in Temescal, Rockridge, North Oakland near San
Francisco at the heart of the flourishing East Bay music scene of the San Francisco Bay
Area.
Tracking, Overdubbing, Mixing
For independent artists and labels, we provide an extraordinary mix environment with
our SSL summing mixer and outboard analog signal processing hardware, complimented
by a massive collection of Pro Tools plug-ins.
TV, Radio, Video & Film Production
For our ad agency, high tech and corporate clients, we provide custom music, voiceover
and sound design services for award winning radio and TV commercials. For the film
industry, we provide custom music, voiceover, audio for film post production, sound
effects, foley, mixing, sound design and ADR.
Great Gear & Versatile Rooms
We record to a fully loaded Pro Tools HD3 system with an extensive analog front end
featuring a state of the art collection of microphones and preamps in an intuitive multiroom
setup. For live ensemble tracking, we provide flexible and creative isolation
options, 32 simultaneous inputs into Pro Tools HD, with fully customizable headphone
mixes.

Services
Vocal Production - At Skyline, you’ll find a state of the art microphone collection,
amazing mic pres, and the perfect ultra low noise floor room for vocal tracking. But
more importantly, we provide deep expertise in vocal harmony and arrangement, and
can help you realize your ultimate vocal potential.
Live Tracking - Skyline offers an amazing mic collection, 32 channels of Neve mic pres,
as well as a beautiful collection of assorted high end class A mic pres, such as Millennia,
Vintech, api, Drawmer, Avalon, Manley, SSL, and Focusrite. We can record up to 32
simultaneous inputs into Pro Tools HD, and offer large ensembles customizable
discrete headphone mixes. Our largest live room is 625 square feet, and with several
other isolation rooms, there are many creative and flexible options for even the most
elaborate and complex recording projects.
Composition and Scoring - For more than 20 years, the team at Skyline has produced
countless projects for film, TV, radio, advertising and corporate industrials.
Mixing - Skyline offers a unique environment to mix your project. The powerful Pro
Tools HD3 system in Control Room A is loaded with a vast assortment of plug-ins,
presenting engineers with a broad palette of mix options. Taking advantage of the SSL
X-Desk summing mixer, outboard dynamic, EQ and effects processing, mixes sizzle with
punch, warmth and clarity.

Guitars and Microphones
Yes, the guitars are beautiful, but they’re not just
wall decorations. We’ve got Fender Strats, a
Telecaster, a baritone Telecaster, Gibson Les Paul,
Gibson SG, Rickenbacker, a sitar, and electric sitar,
Martin and Yamaha acoustics, Ibanez, Jackson,
Epiphone, Kent, Kay, arch tops, hollow bodies, 12
strings, basses, and more.

Team
Bryan Matheson - Bryan Matheson is the owner|operator of Skyline
Studios, operating since 1993. Bryan has had extensive experience on both
sides of the glass, as a recording engineer and as a session singer, and has
won numerous awards for his film TV, and radio work.
Michael Rosen - Michael is a Grammy Award winning recording engineer
and producer with more than 20 years experience. His credits include
Smashmouth, Santana, Rancid, Less Than Jake, Green Day, The KGB, Union
13, X, AFI, Testament, Metallica.
Winter - Winter skillfully combines deep technical knowledge with artistic
creativity while recording, mixing, and mastering activities for both music
and film. He has been an accomplished musician for over 25 years and for
the past 10 years he’s been producing, recording, mixing, & mastering a
healthy slice of the local music & film scene.
Jeff Saltzman - Jeff has been in the music business in the Bay Area since
1987, first as a manager and lawyer for many of the area’s thrash bands like
Testament and Exodus, then punk bands like Rancid and Green Day. He
switched to producing, and produced the Killer’s Hot Fuss and a number of
albums since then.
