our incredible gentle giants in the air conditioned Manatee and Aquatics<br />

FOR STUDENTS K-8 GRADES<br />
Interactive and hands-on, these animal-based classroom lessons<br />
are followed immediately by application with an animal encounter<br />
and/or <strong>Zoo</strong> hike. Participants may express their creativity with<br />
themed crafts or experiments, and also interact with their peers<br />
in classroom activities. All students receive a certificate of<br />
participation. Parent involvement is optional. Any information<br />
regarding Home School will be kept confidential. Programs<br />
meet Sunshine State Standards in Language Arts and Science.<br />
Materials will be provided only <strong>to</strong> paying participants.<br />

and (shh!) education during Hillsborough County school breaks.<br />
A typical day at camp may include:<br />

Do you love animals? Do you hope <strong>to</strong> work in a zoo one day?<br />
This 2.5-hour workshop is a perfect opportunity <strong>to</strong> learn more<br />
about animal-related careers. Get <strong>to</strong> know some of the animals<br />
at Tampa’s <strong>Lowry</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>Zoo</strong> up-close and earn service hours<br />
by completing a mini-service project. Workshop includes an<br />
introduction <strong>to</strong> animal careers, an animal encounter, and a <strong>Zoo</strong><br />
<strong>to</strong>ur consisting of a “behind-the-scenes” component and an<br />
animal enrichment or husbandry experience. Each participant<br />
will receive a certificate acknowledging the service hours earned<br />
through the workshop.<br />

TWILIGHT TOURS<br />
Experience the <strong>Zoo</strong> after the sun goes down. Bring<br />
your flashlight for the best views as you enjoy a guided<br />
hike through the <strong>Zoo</strong>, go behind-the-scenes <strong>to</strong> see the<br />
workings of our world class manatee hospital, and have<br />
an up-close encounter with <strong>Zoo</strong> Animal Ambassadors.<br />
Your evening includes a pizza snack and soda.<br />

• A paying adult must accompany child(ren).<br />

BEASTLY BREAKFAST<br />
Rise and shine with the elephants at the <strong>Zoo</strong>. Enjoy<br />
an exclusive behind-the scenes encounter including:<br />
watching their morning training session done by a<br />
<strong>Zoo</strong>keeper from just feet away. Enjoy the opportunity<br />
<strong>to</strong> talk with their keeper <strong>to</strong>o. Your VIP treatment will<br />
continue as you enjoy a delicious breakfast served<br />
overlooking the animals on the African savannah.<br />
Your special morning will them continue with upclose<br />
encounters with <strong>Zoo</strong> Animal Ambassadors and<br />
then a behind-the-scenes <strong>to</strong>ur which includes our<br />
world class manatee hospital. Then you are free <strong>to</strong><br />
