ICED Names Franchise Development VP
CYPRESS, Texas (November 7, 2007) – The International Center for
Entrepreneurial Development (ICED) has selected Charles W. Mudd as Vice
President of Franchise Development. Mudd has a long history in franchising both
as franchisee and franchisor with Alphagraphics, Service Master Corporation
and, most recently, as Director of Franchise Development at Dwyer
Group/Rainbow International. He takes his post at ICED on November 12.
“Expanding franchise opportunities by helping families find the right business
model has been a natural progression for me over the past 20 years,” said Mudd.
“Having been on both sides of the aisle in franchising, I know firsthand that it is a
tremendous way to start a business—all the questions are already answered.
Being associated with a company that has 40 years of franchising experience and
has built such a high caliber team is exciting.”
Since 2004, Mudd has managed franchise expansion in the United States and
Canada, increasing sales by more than 20 percent, making the Dwyer Group’s
original franchise, Rainbow International, one of the most recognizable brands of
all six of its franchise concepts.
Mudd began his franchising career as Director of U-Copy Operations with
Alphagraphics Printshops of the Future in 1982, and took over the first franchise
in Florida in 1984. Mudd received recognition in his first seven months as Market
Expansion Manager for ServiceMaster Corporation beginning in 1990 where he
managed Master Licensees in the western United States, Alaska and Hawaii. In
1992, he purchased his own ServiceMaster franchise, a 26-year-old operation,
and increased its revenue by 72 percent over the next three years, receiving
ServiceMaster’s national “Top 100 Franchisees” award for growth and
profitability.
