the group campaigning to maintain
your access to station bridge.

cuts in jobs and services that would
hit the vulnerable the most.
4. FOR A LIVING WAGE
Greens are fighting for a 'living wage'
(of at least £7 an hour) in the council

HOUSING
Greens on Sheffield Council have campaigned
for more council housing, to make the lettings
policy clearer and fairer, and to make homes
warmer and more efficient.

mph speed limit on residential roads.

Graham Wroe with Councillors Rob Murphy and

Britain's first Green MP Caroline Lucas was
elected this May and has become a real
voice for change in parliament. She is
working to stop privatisation in schools
and hospitals and campaigning against
government cuts. The Conservatives and
Lib Dems have shown contempt for
ordinary people by cutting benefits and
services, but Labour got us into this mess
and would have made massive cuts too if
they had been elected. The Green Party
wants investment now to avoid recession.
We want the banks to be broken up and
the creation of a non profit, People's Bank.
You have the chance to send a message
to the big 3 parties. We can't go on like
this - it is time for change. Stop risking
our future for quick profits for the few.

INVESTMENT IN JOBS
Sheffield needs investment to avoid the
worst effects of the cuts.
We will invest in better insulation and
solar panels on houses. This would save
money for residents, make money for the
Council and help the local economy. Our
priority is to protect people in Sheffield
from the cuts.

SAFER STREETS
Green Councillors in Sheffield are working
to reduce traffic congestion, air pollution
and road danger. We want :
• 20 mph speed limits on residential
roads (not main roads)
• The council to take back control of bus
services
• Cheaper fares
• Pedestrian access through the railway
station for all
STRONGER
x COMMUNITIES
We support local businesses over big
companies, which often damage the local
economy. We want more support for
schools and youth facilities.

WROE
Graham has lived in Hyde Park and Norfolk
Park Park since 1979 and has a strong
record of campaigning for our area. As
chair of Residents against Bernard Road
Incinerator he helped shut down the old
polluting incinerator near Hyde Park. He is
now working hard as press officer for
Residents against Station Closure to
ensure pedestrians can continue to cross
the railway bridge. Graham teaches at
Sheffield College. Last year he improved
his house with insulation and solar panels.
He says, “I have drastically reduced my
bills and I want to make sure everyone in
our area can too. We must find ways to make this technology more affordable for
people. Greens on Kirklees Council are putting solar panels on council houses and
we should too.
Over 30 years I have seen the Green Party grow into the force it is today with an
MP in Westminster, and councillors countrywide. People are realising that our
policies are sensible and worth voting for. Please elect me and I will do my best
for our community.”
