SHOW OFFICE AND STABLING INFORMATION
STABLING
Stalls are permanent box stalls with doors. Tack rooms may have concrete floors and/or regular entry doors. Groom rooms will
be same as the box stalls. Each animal must be assigned a separate stall (except broodmares with suckling foals) unless no stall
is requested, in which case a grounds fee of $25 per horse per day shall be charged. Every horse entered in this show must pay
either a stall fee or grounds fee. Removal of stall, groom or tack room doors will incur a $100 per stall charge plus damages. Any
decorating material (bark, flowers, sod, framing, etc) must be removed or owner/trainer will be charged an additional fee for removal.
The minimum charge imposed by the fairgrounds is $100. There will be a $75 per day charge for the use of any stall or tack room
by anyone other than the exhibitor assigned to same.
Exhibitors wishing to be stabled together must submit their entries together in the same envelope. Special stabling requests must be
submitted on a separate sheet with the entry. Assignment of stalls is entirely at the discretion of Show management. Horses must
be placed in stalls assigned and no changes will be permitted without the express consent of the Barn Manager.
STABLE AVAILABILITY
Exhibitors MAY NOT arrive earlier than noon Monday, May 26, due to another event at the showgrounds over the Memorial
day weekend, and must be vacated no later than noon Monday, June 2. Due to increases in facility costs, no first bedding
will be included in the stall fee; exhibitors MAY NOT use straw for bedding. Anyone staying past Monday, June 2, must pay a
layover fee of $35 per horse, groom or tack room occupied. Contact Show Manager Phil Bourgeois ((619) 993-4169) if you have
any questions.

STABLING ASSIGNMENT POLICY
Barn assignments are subject to annual review of the Show Commission. The Show Commission has ultimate discretion in
determination of barn assignments. Some of the criteria used to determine barn assignments are number of years of participation,
degree of support, and number of horses. Region One has adopted a barn assignment policy that favors those farms and/or
exhibitors who have maintained a high level of support. Exhibitors requesting specific barn locations please note the following:
Barn Front Policies - (Must be paid in advance)
Patrons will have preference in assignment of barn fronts, with location to be determined by
past participation, best use of facility space, and decision of Show Manager. Please address
requests for specific locations to Show Manager Phil Bourgeois (619)445-5520).
Patron package options are:
$500 Silver Patron Package –
Maximum of 20 stalls/tack stalls--see patron reservation page
for additional benefits.
$1000 Gold Patron Package –
For MORE than 20 stalls/tack stalls--see patron reservation
page for additional benefits.
TRUCK AND TRAILER ENTRANCE
All exhibitors must enter through the North Solana Beach gate off of Via De La Valle at the west side of the fairgrounds. The gate
on Jimmy Durante Drive WILL NOT be open. The barn office will be located in the bungalow at the northeast corner of the stable
area.
SHOW OFFICE - Phone 619-509-5172
Exhibitors are requested to register promptly at the show office upon arrival. The show office will be open Tuesday, May 29 and
Wednesday, May 30 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and each day throughout the show from 7:00 a.m. until after the last class of the
day. The office will remain open one hour after completion of the last class of the show.
additional bedding or feed. Payment must be made directly to the Del Mar Feed Store.
RV SPACE RESERVATIONS
All reservations and payment for RV or Motorhome spaces must be made direct with Del Mar Fairgrounds. Call 858-509-5245 for
reservation to Jean at 559-658-2198. First come, first served.
PARKING AND TRAILER AREAS
Specific areas have been set aside for parking of horse trailers and vans of exhibitors reserving stalls. Special parking areas will
be available for exhibitors showing from trailers. Motor-bikes and motorcycles are prohibited on the fairgrounds. Because parking
is limited in the barn area, exhibitors will be issued a limited number of parking permits for the stable area. Overflow exhibitor
vehicles may be parked in the paved parking lot on the south side of the horse show arena (2nd gate off Jimmy Durante Blvd). Fire
regulations prohibit parking between the barns.
QUALIFICATION REMINDER
Previous Regional Championships, Regional Reserve Championships or Top Five awards are no longer qualifying wins for Regional
Championship classes. Only points or scores won at Region One qualifying shows within the past calendar year or prior to the
Regional championship show in this year can be used as qualification for this Regional Championship show.
FARRIER AND VETERINARIAN
California licensed equine veterinarian as the official show veterinarian. Show management reserves the right to refuse entry onto
the show grounds to any horse exposed to, or which may be harboring a communicable disease. All animals are subject to a physical
The State Humane Officer requires dogs to be confined or on a leash at all times and are not allowed outside the barn area. Dogs
are NOT ALLOWED in the grandstand or show office area at any time.
CLASS CALLS
Due to unforeseeable problems with any mechanical device, the PA system and paddock calls must be considered a courtesy. It is
the responsibility of the exhibitor to be sure that his horse is at the gate at the prescribed time. Every effort will be made to maintain
a working PA system to carry class calls; however, no protest will be upheld, nor will any class be changed on the basis of PA
malfunction alone.
IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS
Every horse entered in the show will be assigned a separate identification number. It is important for the proper handling of the show
that the correct number be worn by the rider or handler in all classes.
HOSPITALITY ROOM
SPECIAL INFORMATION
REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
It is the responsibility of the person(s) signing the entry form to verify that the horse is eligible to be entered and compete in the
Regional Championship class. (AHA Handbook Art 1725.1) No refunds will be made for horses improperly entered in Regional
Championship or Sweepstakes classes. Exhibitors entering Regional Championship classes must complete the qualification section
on the front of the entry form. Qualifying data must be complete--including show name and date, qualifying class name, placing in
the class, name of rider in qualifying class for ATR, JTR, AAOTR, JOTR, AOTR classes, number of horses in qualifying class.
ELIGIBILITY TO COMPETE IN AOTR, AAOTR, JOTR CLASSES
Horses entered in amateur owner and junior owner classes must be registered in the name of the competitor or a member of the
competitors family, as defined by USEF GR 122. (Horses registered in a farm/ranch/syndicate/partnership/corporation name may be
shown in Amateur Owner classes provided the family is the sole owner of the farm or entity as defined by USEF GR 122.) The sale
of a horse does not eliminate this registration requirement. Contracts of Sale or Bill of Sale will not be accepted.
Horse must have been qualified by an amateur owner.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Horses entered in regional championship classes must be qualified in a show that was held within the preceding calendar year and
that period of the current year up to the commencement of the Regional Championship show. See AHA Handbook for qualification
requirements. Reining and trail horses may qualify with one score of 68 points or better at a Region One qualifying show. For USEF/
USDF open show scores to count toward Regional Championship classes, the horse must be enrolled in the AHA Dressage program
and the show must be held in the same Region as the Regional Championship class entered. Scores earned from previous Regional
Championship classes will not count toward qualification. Horses entered in JTR or ATR classes must have been qualified by a
junior or amateur. Horses entered in AAO, JO or AO classes must have been qualified by an Amateur Owner. It is the responsibility
of the amateur and/or owner to abide by these rules.
FAILURE TO CANCEL CLASSES OR COMPLETE RIDER CHANGE FORMS
A rider change form must be completed in the show office before the start of the session for any change from rider/handler listed on
the entry. All rider/handlers and their member numbers must be reported to AHA for qualification and awards tracking. Exhibitors are
required to complete an official scratch form prior to the class for all scratches. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to advise the show
office of rider changes or scratches prior to a class; failure to complete rider change or scratch forms prior to the class will result in
a $25 fine and that horse, owner and/or rider-handler may not show in subsequent classes until the fine is paid at the show office.

This courtesy will enable the gatemen and the office to function more efficiently.
