Jaguar and Land Rover partners with
Spectre the 24th James Bond adventure

Jaguar Land Rover has announced its line-up
of vehicles set to feature in SPECTRE, the 24th
James Bond adventure, from Albert R. Broccoli’s
EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios,
and Sony Pictures Entertainment. These will
include; Jaguar C-X75s, Range Rover Sport SVRs
and Defender Big Foots which have been provided
by Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations.
Looking at this lineup of vehicles I go so excited
and at the same time green with envy. There is
nothing I would want more than to be behind the
wheel, hitting the accelerator and off into oblivion.
Anyway I love James Bond and I can’t wait to
watch these babies in action. After Skyfall, I fell
in love all over again with the Defender so this is
a moment most of you will enjoy.
The Jaguar C-X75 will feature in a spectacular
car chase sequence through Rome alongside
the Aston Martin DB10. The C-X75 vehicles
have been built in collaboration with Williams
Advanced Engineering facility in Oxfordshire,
England. Scenes including the heavily modified
Land Rover Defenders and Range Rover Sport
SVR have already been filmed in Austria.
The Range Rover Sport SVR is the fastest and
the most powerful Land Rover ever. I have a lot
that I would like to blurb on an on about this
vehicle. The fastest, most powerful Land Rover
ever produced is the first model to wear the SVR
designation being adopted by future Land Rover
and Jaguar high-performance models.
The Range Rover Sport SVR accelerates from
0-100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds. A top speed electronically
limited to 260kph and a Nürburgring
Nordschleife lap time of 8 minutes 14 seconds –
one of the fastest times ever recorded by a production
SUV – underline its performance credentials.
The SVR’s range-topping 5.0-litre supercharged
V8 engine has been developed to produce
405kW and 680Nm – substantial 29kW and
56Nm increases - without compromising fuel
economy.
And its advanced ZF 8HP70 8-speed automatic
transmission and four-wheel-drive chassis have
been optimised to complement its astonishing
performance, whatever the
weather.
In a world first for Land
Rover, the Range Rover
Sport SVR is equipped with
a two-stage active exhaust
featuring electronically
controlled valves.
The system optimises
sound quality, performance
and aesthetics and provides
a race car-inspired
soundtrack at higher engine
revs without adversely
affecting refinement during
steady-state driving.
The highly capable Big
Foots were constructed by
the Special Operations division,
and are shod with
huge 37-inch diameter offroad
tyres to tackle extreme
terrain. They also feature
bespoke suspension and enhanced
body protection.
Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special
Operations, John Edwards, said: "This is an
exciting partnership for Jaguar Land Rover and
an opportunity to demonstrate the fantastic capabilities
of the Special Operations team.’’
Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles have been
involved in a succession of Bond films. Most
recently, in 2012, the rugged Defender 110 Double
Cab Pick Up was driven by field agent Eve
Moneypenny in the opening sequence to SKY-
FALL.
Now a little bit about SPECTRE.: A cryptic
message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to
uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles
political forces to keep the secret service alive,
Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal
the terrible truth behind SPECTRE. Directed by
Sam Mendes, the film is written by John Logan
and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and produced by
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.
