Dyan McBride (Director) has proudly worked with 42nd Street Moon for over 15 years as an actress, director and most recently added education director to her list. Favorite productions include Lady, Be Good!, Jubilee, Call Me Madam, High Spirits, Girl Crazy, The Student Gypsy, Plain and Fancy, Mack and Mabel, Minnie’s Boys, Can-Can, Finian’s Rainbow, Paint Your Wagon (Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award), By Jupiter, Leave It to Me! (recorded), Dear World, and Louisiana Purchase. He has also appeared with Donna McKechnie, Cady Huffman, Nancy Dussault, Andrea McArdle, Marni Nixon, Rebecca Luker and Leslie Caron. Other Bay Area credits include: tick, tick…Boom! (Theatre Rhinoceros), I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (Ray of Light), Man of LaMancha (BATCC Award-San Francisco Playhouse); The Fantasticks (Shakespeare at Stinson); Passion, and Chess (New Conservatory Theatre). Zack Thomas Wilde (Choreographer) choreographed Lady, Be Good! and Very Warm For May at 42nd Street Moon earlier this year. A nephew of Marion Rice (Denishawn) and Carolyn Brown (Merce Cunningham), he studied performing arts at UC Santa Barbara before touring internationally with Les Ballets Trockadero. He has shared the stage with Shirley MacLaine, Dick Cavett, Diana Rigg, Sir Robert Helpman, Joe Namath, Eddie Bracken, Irene Cara, and Howard McGillin. He’s danced principal roles with the Cape Town Ballet, Nederlands Dance Theater, coached Natalia Makarova and Alessandro Molin in London, and danced and choreographed in NYC, Tuscany, and for the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus. Tanya Telson (Stage Manager) has been an active stage manager for over a decade. This is her first show with 42nd Street Moon. Other credits include stage management for Jerry Springer the Opera and Baby (Ray of Light). Previously, she was a stage manager for foolsFURY’s production of Monster in the Dark. Other shows include assistant stage management for the American Conservatory Theater’s productions of The Importance of Being Earnest, Middle Class, Luminescence Dating, Red Scare on Sunset and Cider House Rules. Cathie Anderson (Lighting Designer) designs lights for dance, theater and special events in the Bay Area and Honolulu. Recent events include the Richmond-Ermet AIDS Foundation’s benefit events at the Herbst and Marines Memorial Theatres (2008-2010), Murder for Two, A Killer Musical (42nd Street Moon), The Beebo Brinker Chronicles, Scalpel! and Fou Fou Ha at Brava Theater (2010), Silk Road at the Mexican Cultural Plaza and Keep Her Safe Please at the Cowell Theater (2010). Louise Jarmilowicz (Costumer) is in her fifth season as costumer for 42nd Street Moon. She has been costuming around San Francisco for many years. Other groups with whom she has worked designing and constructing costumes, include Crowded Fire, the Thrillpeddlers, Handful Players, the African-American Shakespeare Co., Children’s Fairyland, Stage Door Conservatory, The Lamplighters, the Dark Room Theater, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and many other local artists. www.jarmodesigns.com Sarah Phykitt (Set Designer) Credits include: Our Body Remembers (Scenic and Lighting Designer) with Levy Dance, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (Scenic Design and Production Manager) with Custom Made Theatre, The Jewish Theatre San Francisco (Production Manager), the Duke on 42nd Street (Technical Manager). Other recent SF productions include Sketchfest 2010, Stateless: A Hip Hop Vaudeville Experience, The Sisters Rosensweig, and The Floating Light Bulb. NYC productions include Black Nativity, My Dead Mother Is Funnier than You, Altar Boyz, Slava’s Snow Show, Anton: Scenes from the Family Life of Anton Chekhov, Trailerville, and several pieces for the Central Park Zoo’s Wildlife Theater.
Christian Jusinski (Prop Master) most recently designed props for 42nd Street Moon’s production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, as well as last season’s Jubilee and Destry Rides Again. He is also a freelance designer/sculptor/metal fabricator and massage therapist who recently said goodbye to his position of five years as a theater technician at Steve Silver’s Beach Blanket Babylon. He is also a devoted studio assistant to Oakland artist Trevor Southey. GREG MACKELLAN (Artistic Director) is always happy when there is a Rodgers & Hart musical on the Moon stage. During his 18 years as Artistic Director of 42nd Street Moon, he has directed more than 50 musicals, including Li’l Abner, Minnie’s Boys, Paint Your Wagon, The Student Gypsy, Do I Hear a Waltz?, Gay Divorce, Nymph Errant, and Irma La Douce. His own Rodgers & Hart productions have included A Connecticut Yankee, Peggy-Ann, Too Many Girls, and I Married an Angel. In LA and New York, Greg was responsible for the acclaimed six-CD “Shadowland” series of recordings devoted to lesser-known songs by classic American musical theatre songwriters with performers including Judy Kaye, Jason Graae, Susan Watson, Patricia Morison and lyricist Sheldon Harnick. Greg also provided the revised script for 42nd Street Moon’s 2004 NEA-sponsored restoration of the Harburg/Arlen Hooray for What! Also in 2004, Greg’s award-winning revision of the Cole Porter musical Out of This World was presented to critical acclaim at the Chichester Festival in England, and has since been produced in Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. He yearly directs the Moon fundraising gala, including I Remember It Well with Leslie Caron and All the Things You Are with Rebecca Luker, with whom he reunited for the recent Jerome Kern Salon. STEPHANIE RHOADS (Artistic Director) says that “founding 42nd St. Moon in 1993 with Greg has resulted in the realization of a dream. Giving new life to forgotten and under-presented works of musical theatre has provided a source of joy and pride.” As an actor, she recently graced our stage as Madame la Comtesse Diane de Vobrillac in Ben Franklin in Paris. Included among her favorite Moon roles: Helen Vance in our smash production of Out of This World, Adriana in Boys From Syracuse, Ninotchka in Silk Stockings, Venus in One Touch of..., Elvira in High Spirits, Thea in Fiorello!, and Adeline in Sweet Adeline. She will appear in April, 2011’s Strike Up the Band and the John Kander Salon. Stephanie has received Dean Goodman Choice Awards for Hello Dolly!, Out of This World, and One Touch of Venus as well as Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards. She appears often with many regional companies, has performed around the world, and is a concert soloist and a voice-over artist. LAUREN HEWITT (Executive Director) provides 42nd Street Moon’s executive management. As the past Director of Development of Berkeley’s Aurora Theatre, she led a capital campaign to build their new home theatre. As the former Director of the Jon Sims Center for the Arts, she founded AIRspace, the new works residency program. Under sponsorship of the Jon Sims Center, she produced the opera, Wuornos, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (2001). Under Lauren’s leadership 42nd Street Moon spearheads the organization’s long-range planning and direction. She authored a grant proposal to the San Francisco Arts Commission to acquire and renovate 42nd Street Moon’s rehearsal and administrative space, and diligently pursues various prestigious operating grants from local and national foundations. A passionate believer in the power of arts education she has led the company’s efforts to create and support 42nd Street Moon’s fledging educational programs. A fourth-generation Californian, Lauren holds a B.A. in Directing Theatre from S.F. State University and a Masters Degree in Arts Administration from S.F.’s Golden Gate University.
