Final results of the Marine Corps League National Postal and Rifle Competition. 

The response to the National Postal Match was down, with 911 in the Northeast and 

the Forrest fires in the west many of the team had difficulty in scheduling matches. 

As for the Southern State we did have some entries. We are still finding 

Detachments that have not been notified about the National Postal Match. The rules 

and Regulations for both matches are posted on the Department of Pennsylvania's 

web page (pamcleague.org) Brochures were distributed to all Department 

Commandants that attended the Falls Church Winter Staff meeting. The National 

Staff sent a copy out to all the Departments and detachments that have an internet 

address on file at the MCL National Office with an attached copy of the rules, 

regulations and registration procedure for entering the National Postal Matches. 

The program is set up so any member(s) of a Detachment that cannot field a team 

and is interested in entering the competition can register as individuals and be 

eligible for a trophy. First time competitors will be classified as MASTER shooters 

for the current match, (unless they submit a copy of their NRA classification card.) 

They then will be classified as noted for the current match.

The awards will be presented at the Fall Church Staff meeting. The awards can be 

picked up by the person receiving the award, or the Department and Detachment 

Commandants that are in attendance. They will be responsible for the distribution 

to the Detachment or the individual recipient.

If any name or other designation in the brochure is incorrect and corrections are 

needed please contact the office of Ernest J. Simmons. The corrections have to be 

made as soon as possible. dead line for corrections is 15 January 2003. There will 

no corrections made after the trophies are engraved.
