<strong>Workshops</strong> Do These Jeans Make Me Look Fat? - A Journey To Weight Loss Tawnia Thompson Whether you have five pounds to lose or a hundred your weight is weighing you down. If it is on your mind it is stealing energy and self confidence from you every time you think of it. It might be impacting you in ways that you haven’t even realized yet. The easy answer, do something about it!!! It sounds so simple yet so many of us try and fail. Some of us are successful at losing the weight and then a few months later or a few years later we find ourselves right back at square one. Remember, weight loss is a journey and during this workshop Tawnia will share her very personal story about how she let her weight overwhelm and consume her. She will reveal the impact her weight had on her marriage and on her relationship with God. She will share the things that have helped her become successful in her weight loss journey and you can expect a few laughs as she shares some of the failures. She doesn’t want you to feel the need to ask, ”Do these jeans make me look fat?” and have someone say “No, Tawnia, I don’t think it is the jeans.” “Mommy, Why Are You Angry?” Tyler Rowan Do you love your children passionately and yet wonder why you feel frustrated, overreact, yell, and end your days guilt-ridden for how you parent? While few of us want to admit it, many women struggle with anger towards our children, or other loved ones, to some degree. Mother anger is not an isolated experience. You are not alone! Through her raw and real testimony, Tyler will share her journey towards breaking free from anger for good. While Tyler’s testimony and experience relate primarily to the issue of mother anger, the principles she shares are also applicable to women who struggle with anger in a broad range of life stages. With a Christ-centred and practical approach, Tyler will share strategies – both spiritual and applicable to day-to-day life - that will help other women who share her struggle to experience freedom from anger, and thus become the women God intended them to be. The Journey Through Rejection And Acceptance Charlene Barber When God created us in His image, He put in each of us a need for relationship: first with Himself and then with others. When He redeemed us, He adopted us into His family. Though our Heavenly Father loves us unconditionally, the same cannot always be said of His children. And sometimes we are rejected by the very ones who should know better. Charlene will share how God walked with her as she journeyed through betrayal and fractured relationships within the family of God.
What About Me – Where Do I Fit? The Journey Through Transition Marie Grabek A question we have all asked at various times in our life; perhaps as a teenager, young adult, single woman, professional woman, mother of small children, a widow or divorced, or even as a Christian. This session will allow us to put our heads together and see what answers we can discover to help us put to rest this age-old question. Marie will share her own personal journey of how God has helped her to find where she fits, at various stages and transitions. God knows each one of us better than anyone else; and He has just the right story to share with us about a woman’s journey found in Scripture that will reassure each and every one of His daughters, that you “DO FIT” exactly where you are suppose to! See you there! Fairy Tales And Romance Novels… I Don’t Think So! Debbie Thunberg As girls, we grow up with conscious and unconscious dreams and expectations of who our prince will be and what our life together will be like. He’s the one! We’ll live happily ever after! We’ll have the most beautiful family ever! The sudden rush of reality soon sets in and now what! What do we do with these unmet expectations and dreams of ours? Debbie will be sharing some of her experiences with unmet expectations and how, with God’s grace, her marriage went from good to separation to restoration and now even better! It’s a journey, and she’s not even half way there! Drop-In Card Making Come explore the world of card making with Lisa Gould! Lisa Gould is a card making instructor who has her own business selling handmade greeting cards and stationary. She will be available from 1-4 pm on Saturday, October 23. There is something for everybody! Drop in for 30 minutes or stay as long as you like. Make greeting cards with your personal touch that you can take home.
