If you’re looking for a place to get lost and
escape the big city pace while enjoying a
variety of shops and eateries, you’ve just
discovered the Menomonie area.
In some of our more remote locations, you
may be joined by an eagle taking off from
a nearby pine or a whitetail deer as it peers
from the brush. The only sounds are the
rush of the water and distant laughter of
youth floating the river on inner tubes.
Menomin Mountain Bike Park
Ride over 5 miles of single track while
enjoying the scenery in northwestern
Wisconsin. Single track mountain bike
trails slice through every part of the park.
Wildlife, water, hillsides, fields, and woods

tough climbs will test most riders. New
riders have plenty of options to learn new
skills on the pump track or on flat trails
near the middle of the park. Menomin
park also offers walking trails and is a dog

Boating Rivers & Lakes
The county maintains 16 parks, nine of
them with river or lake boat access, and the
City of Menomonie has five boat landings
on Lake Menomin and the Red Cedar River.
Snowmobile Trails
The county has 300 miles of groomed and
marked trails. Call the snowmobile hotline to

Cross Country
Skiing
In the winter, crosscountry
skiing is the
primary use of the Red
Cedar Trail
(15 miles) and Hoffman
Hills Recreation Area
(9.1 miles).
Snowboarding
The Dunn County
Recreation Park is home
to the newly developed
Dunn County Snow
Park. A dedicated group
of volunteers cleared the
way and built the park
for everyone to enjoy.

provides public skating
times at their rink in the
Dunn County Recreation
Park. The city and

Tree City and Bird City
Menomonie has been a Tree
City USA member for more than
20 years. The Tree City USA
program is a national program
that provides the framework for
community forestry management for cities
and towns across America.
In 2013, Menomonie has also
been designated a Bird City
Wisconsin member. Bird City
has developed 22 conservation
criteria across five categories. If a
community meets at least seven
criteria, it becomes an official Bird City.
Thrill of the hunt…and fish
In the fall, over 14,000 acres of public
wildlife and natural areas are
open for public hunting.
Whispering Emerald Ridge in Menomonie
offers 380 acres of managed habitat divided
into seven hunting fields plus two training
fields. Also enjoy Sporting Clays, the
fastest growing of all the shotgun sports.
