Initiatives
The Luskin Center achieves its
mission through initiatives designed to
translate world-class research and expertise
into real-world policy solutions. The current
theme of environmental sustainability
connects the Luskin Center initiatives. A
common objective is to help civic leaders
address knowledge deficits or research needs
that, once addressed, lead to policy or organizational
innovations to advance sustainability.
As such, the Luskin Center cultivates civic
partners who 1) are positioned to lead policy
or organizational changes and 2) seek specific
expertise or research-driven information that
UCLA can provide. Working closely with these
civic partners, the Luskin Center addresses
environmental sustainability in Los Angeles
through a mixture of scholarship, research,
and community engagement.
