Athletes Championship Information.<br />
Timetable<br />
Directions to N.I.A.C. & Car Parking at N.I.A.C<br />
1. REGISTERED Athletes must have paid their competition entry fee to <strong>Welsh</strong> <strong>Athletics</strong> prior to the<br />
competition day, also athletes must have paid and registered with their club and <strong>Welsh</strong><br />
<strong>Athletics</strong> otherwise athletes will not be permitted to take part.<br />
2. HEALTH & SAFETY Athletes compete entirely at their own risk. <strong>Welsh</strong> <strong>Athletics</strong> cannot accept responsibility for<br />
personal accidents, loss or damage to personal property or any public liability.<br />
3. COACHES If your coach wishes to gain access to the warm up area then he/she must have their up to<br />
date coaching UKA card and number. Coaches will need to register at the front entry desk<br />
to acquire his/her accreditation, which then must be visible at the event. Coaches will then<br />
have FREE access to the event.<br />
4. SPECTATORS Entry fees for spectators will be £5.00 per adult, £3.00 children/concession per day, this will<br />
include a Free event programme, Family (2 Adult, 2 or more children/concession) £12.00<br />
per day. Second day entry £3.00pp with programme retention. Programmes cost £3.00<br />
5. PHOTOGRAPHY/FILMING Anyone who wishes to take pictures will need to register their equipment at the<br />
photography desk, anyone who does film and has not acquired approval will be asked to<br />
hand over their recording equipment, this also applies to mobile phones, I pods, tablets.<br />
This sticker must be visible on yourself or equipment for the duration of the championships<br />
6. ANTI DOPING Athletes <strong>here</strong>by (i) acknowledge that I am bound by UKA’s Anti-Doping rules, (ii) agree to<br />
submit to drugs testing in connection with this event in accordance with UKA’s Anti-Doping<br />
rules (which may involve my providing a blood and/or urine sample); and (iii) confirm that I<br />
am either aged 18 years or older or that the person(s) having parental responsibility for me<br />
consent to the above testing. To check the status of registered medicines please visit<br />

The UKA Anti-Doping Rules are available at www.uka.org.uk. For general anti-doping<br />
queries please contact antidoping@uka.org.uk.” athletes must ensure that they register any<br />
use of prescribed medication containing prohibited substances prior to any use or (in<br />
emergency cases) immediately after use.<br />
7. REPORTING TIME FOR<br />
NUMBERS<br />
If athletes have any issues with their entry or payments please bring your PayPal receipt to<br />
registration when they collect their numbers, well in advance of the scheduled time of the<br />
FIRST EVENT in which they are entered. Numbers must be collected no later than ONE AND<br />
A HALF HOURS before an athlete’s first event for both track and field events. When<br />
collecting numbers athletes must indicate all the events in which they will be taking part<br />
to the numbers steward. Athletes who report late run the risk of not being able to<br />
compete. Athletes who are competing on both days must report each day to registration<br />
with the previous days issued numbers.<br />
8. NUMBERS All competitors MUST wear 2 numbers (as issued), with the exception of competitors in the<br />
high jump or pole vault who may wear a single number on the back or front only.<br />
9. REPORORTING TIME FOR<br />
COMPETITION/FINAL<br />
CALL ROOM<br />
For track events competitors must report to the Final Call Room 15 minutes before the<br />
event is due to start. Hurdles 20 minutes before the event are due to start. For field events<br />
competitors must report to the officials who are in charge of the event 30 minutes before<br />
its scheduled starting time, except high jump (40 minutes) and Pole Vault (60 minutes). The<br />
officials will be located w<strong>here</strong> the event will take place. In field events athletes must<br />
observe the rules of safety.<br />
10 IMPLEMENT CHECKS Personal field equipment must be checked by the Technical Manager at least one hour<br />
before the event.<br />
11 TIMETABLE The Meeting Manager and Referees reserve the right to make any alterations in the<br />
programme that may be deemed necessary.

12 WARM UP AREA TRACK warming up to be done outside the track in the area provided and now<strong>here</strong> else.<br />
Disqualification is liable if not observed.<br />
FIELD Athletes will be allowed warm up attempts prior to the event.<br />
Athletes are not permitted to bring personal music equipment or mobile telephones into<br />
the WARM UP or COMPETITION area<br />
13 SPIKES Only 6mm spikes may be worn.<br />
14 STARTING BLOCKS Only stadium blocks may be used.<br />
15 VESTS/CLOTHING In all events, competitors must wear at least vest and shorts (or equivalent clothing) which<br />
are clean and designed and worn as not to be objectionable, even when wet. Competitors<br />
must wear the vest of their first claim affiliated Club, Regional, University or National vest.<br />
(UKA Rule 17), attention is drawn to UKA rule 16 on advertising and sponsorship which will<br />
be enforced<br />
16 QUALIFICATION OF<br />
HEATS TO FINALS<br />
Information will be provided to athletes regarding this when they register and when they<br />
register for their event at the FINAL CALL ROOM. Announcements will also be made prior to<br />
the event<br />
17 START HEIGHTS High Jump and Pole Vault minimum start height will be determined by the athletes and<br />
chief officials at the event.<br />
18 AWARDS Athletes’ awards will be made throughout the day. Non <strong>Welsh</strong> athletes will only receive<br />
(Gold Medal) as part of the ‘OPEN’ Championships if they win an event, no medals for 2 nd<br />
or 3rd. in the Senior competition the first 3 <strong>Welsh</strong> finalists to report to the presentation<br />
area after their event ready for presentation.<br />
19 TRIALS Under 13 will have 3 trials only, U17 & Senior athletes will have 3+3 trial in field events,<br />
failure to make a valid performance in the first 3 trials, will mean exit from the competition,<br />
after that the top 8 will progress for a further 3 trials.<br />
20 WITHDRAWING FROM<br />
EVENTS<br />
Athletes, who fail to compete in finals after having qualified to do so, without giving a valid<br />
reason to the referee, shall be excluded from competing in any further events (track or<br />
field) for the remainder of the meeting.<br />
21 CAR PARKING All parents, athletes and coaches please make sure you ‘pay and display’ during your visit to<br />
NIAC, weekend fee is 50p per day.<br />
The Referee’s/Meeting Manager’s decision is final.
