VENUE MEDIA MANAGER<br />
OVERVIEW:<br />
Pre Tournament and Tournament time<br />
The <strong>Venue</strong> <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> (VMM) is responsible for the efficient and effective operations<br />
of all <strong>Media</strong> facilities and services at a venue, including the management of media<br />
operations staff, coordination with other functional areas at a venue and ensuring the<br />
optimum level of support to the accredited media.<br />
RESPONSIBILITIES:<br />
The VMM is responsible for:<br />
⎬ Managing the planning and operations of the <strong>Media</strong> Centre and all associated facilities<br />
and services at a venue.<br />
⎬ Oversee all key functional responsibilities, including but not limited to the <strong>Media</strong> Centre,<br />
Press Tribune, <strong>Media</strong> Conference Room, Mixed Zone and Photo Positions.<br />
⎬ Responsible for the management of all Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E),<br />
including the coordination of inventory with In-<strong>Venue</strong> Logistics team and the set-up of<br />
required media spaces as per the CAD designs before the Tournament begins and<br />
during the dismantling process at the end of the event.<br />
⎬ Responsible for the management of all Technology, including the coordination of<br />
inventory with the Technology team and the placement of equipment in accordance with<br />
CADs before the VMC opens during the dismantling process at the end of the event.<br />
⎬ Responsible for managing the coordination and delivery of all Rate Card orders from<br />
media organizations to the respective areas within the venue, including liaising with the<br />
<strong>Venue</strong> Technology team to ensure all orders are installed and operational on the agreed<br />
dates and in the agreed locations.<br />
⎬ Ensure a fully equipped <strong>Media</strong> Workroom, Press Tribune and <strong>Media</strong> Conference Room<br />
that meet the needs of journalists and photographers, enabling them to compile and<br />
transmit their coverage directly from the venues.<br />
⎬ Closely manage the Mixed Zone operation, including liaising with the Host Broadcast<br />
Mixed Zone <strong>Manager</strong> and Team <strong>Media</strong> <strong>Manager</strong>s to ensure player movement is<br />
consistent throughout training and competition and that media have an efficient and<br />
effective environment in which to interview athletes post-match.<br />
⎬ Ensure media flow throughout the venue - especially with respect to key media areas –<br />
is unrestricted and effectively maintained through dedicated media access points.<br />
⎬ Develop and maintain a close working relationship with all RNZ 2011 functional areas<br />
at the venue.<br />
⎬ Monitor the key media services, including but not limited to Accreditation,<br />
Transportation and Food & Beverage and provide support to the respective RNZ 2011<br />
Functional Area <strong>Manager</strong>s to ensure media clientele are being provided the level of<br />
service requested by <strong>Media</strong> Operations.<br />
⎬ Responsible for the leadership and management of all <strong>Media</strong> Operations staff on<br />
venue, including paid and volunteer staff.<br />
⎬ Responsible for coordinating all venue and job-specific training programs for <strong>Media</strong><br />
Operations staff.<br />
⎬ Responsible for creating staff rosters and schedules for all operational periods at<br />
venue, including Match Days and Non-Match Days.<br />
⎬ Conduct daily briefing meetings with <strong>Media</strong> Operations staff.<br />
⎬ Participate in the daily <strong>Venue</strong> Management and Match Management meetings.<br />
⎬ Cooperate with RNZ 2011 Communications department regarding information flow.<br />
⎬ Cooperate with RWCL Match Press Officer for all matters related to the Tournament.<br />
⎬ Submit daily written reports to the <strong>Media</strong> Operations <strong>Manager</strong> summarizing the day’s<br />
events.
