She said the woman insulted her
saying,now she has found someone taking
care of her, people are jealous. A man who
makes his wife ride on motor bike and I sit in
the front of his car, very soon I will be his
wife and if that thing he calls a wife cannot
stand it, she can leave. We have motor
bikes as means of transportation because
the roads are not too good. My husband
has two cars, one car has a problem with
the battery, I asked him to fix it for me so I
can use it, he asked me to fix it myself. That
is besides the point, now I have had enough
of him disgracing me. Everyday, people
come to the clinic to tell me stories about my
husband and his mistress, and most times
when they come my junior nurses are
around, I feel so embarrassed. The last
time, I was told two women came looking
for me; they have been to the clinic twice.
They even left their telephone numbers
that I call them, and I said if it so
important to them, they will come back.
One day I was with my junior nurses
when the said women came again. I
thought their problem was health related
but NO, they came to tell me all about my
husband's affair. Madam , they said, if
you are asleep, wake up, this woman will
wreck your marriage, we know her very
well in this community, besides she uses
charms, recently she's been en-stooled
Queenmother in her village. Your
husband paid for every expense. Your
husband shops for her and her entire
family. She has said no one will separate
her from your husband, not even you
can do that. On hearing this, I began
crying forgetting that I was still at work,
my junior nurse also confirmed what
was said. She told me how my
husband shops for her, bag of rice,
cooking oil, tubers of yam, plantain and
even fills her empty cylinder when she
runs out of gas, when he does not do
that at home. I went home and that
night my husband got home about
1am. I waited for him and told him all
that I have been told and asked if it is
true, my husband did not answer. I told
him “tomorrow I will go and meet her”.
You mean you can do all of this for
another woman but not me? Have I
offended you in anyway? I asked him,
he did not say anything but only begged
me not to go and see her. I asked why I
should not go there, I then reminded him, I
have been to her two years ago to warn her
and she is still holding on to you, so I will go
there again.
The following morning I went to his
mistress, she hurled insults at me, she
even asked me if I have the butts like she
has to sleep with my husband and that my
husband loves her and will marry her, i told
her we shall see. The following day, I stood
at the junction where my husband normally
passes to her house, I was there and about
6pm I saw my husband coming, I was so
surprised but I waited patiently till he got to
where I was and he was surprised to see
me. I asked him; where do you think you
are going?, so you come this early, I see,
let's go to wherever you are going. Very
ashamed he drove me home. For the very
first time, I slapped my husband and beat
him up, he did not say anything.
“why did you do that"?
I asked him what he told his mistress
about me for her to have the audacity to
ask me if I had what it takes to sleep with
him. He did not answer and I got furious
and slapped him. At first I thought he will
fight back but when he did not, I received
power from on high and really beat him
such that he will have a mark. I want to
torment him till he commits suicide.
“ I thought you said you want a divorce”?
Talking to you has given me new ideas, in
fact I think I will go by my father's idea.
“Father's idea? Which is?” My father,
requested he comes to see him with a
relative. I was present too and it was
decided he buys a goat, drinks and invite
elders of Adusa and Mayera to appease
me because he has been unfair to me and
I said no, but now I think it will be a way to
disgrace him, he has disgraced me long
enough.
“ Don't you think you will be disgraced
too” .
Everybody in Mayera knows I am the
nurse whose husband is cheating on
her, I have already been disgraced in
the presence of my junior nurses, what
more disgrace are you talking about. I
will torment him till he commits
suicide, he has killed me several
times, it's now time for his death.

advise do I give to Auntie Mansa?
