In order to achieve the best we can for each student in the school, as a<br />

<strong>School</strong>, we will:<br />

a) do everything possible to ensure the safety and well-being of your child whilst in our care;<br />

b) encourage and challenge your child to achieve the best of which (s)he is capable in all<br />

aspects of school life;<br />

c) provide a broad, balanced curriculum with opportunities for continuity which, as far as<br />

possible, meets your child’s individual needs;<br />

d) recognise your child’s academic and other achievements within the school;<br />

e) offer your child opportunities to take part in activities which give new experiences or<br />

develop work done as part of the curriculum;<br />

f) encourage the development of respect for individuals and the taking of responsibility;<br />

g) do our best to keep you informed in good time about your child’s progress, on factors likely<br />

to affect your child’s education and on general <strong>School</strong> matters through letters, newsletters<br />

and reports;<br />

h) do our best to keep you informed of late changes in published arrangements;<br />

i) be approachable and supportive of your involvement in the life of the <strong>School</strong>;<br />

j) support you in achieving the best for your child(ren) in school life;<br />

k) support the above in the example we set to your child.<br />

As a Student, to give myself and others the best possible chances of learning<br />

at <strong>Richmond</strong> <strong>School</strong>, I will:<br />

a) attend regularly, on time and properly equipped for work;<br />

b) do all classwork and homework as well as possible and not disrupt the work of others;<br />

c) respect the views, wishes, feelings and needs of others;<br />

d) be polite, supportive and helpful to others;<br />

e) wear the uniform of the <strong>School</strong> and keep a tidy appearance;<br />

f) show care, responsibility and respect for our <strong>School</strong>, its equipment and surroundings at all<br />

times;<br />

g) use my planner with care and show it to parents and school on a regular basis;<br />

h) make sure that letters and messages given to me are passed on promptly;<br />

i) maintain high standards of behaviour travelling to and from <strong>School</strong>.


As a Parent, I/we will support my/our child(ren) and <strong>Richmond</strong><br />

<strong>School</strong> by:<br />

a) emphasising to my child(ren) the importance of a good education for a happy and<br />

successful life;<br />

b) ensuring that my/our child attends regularly and punctually;<br />

c) ensuring that (s)he wears the correct uniform and is properly equipped;<br />

d) contacting <strong>School</strong> promptly about things which may affect or influence the education,<br />

behaviour or attendance of my/our child;<br />

e) supporting the <strong>School</strong>’s Code of Conduct and behaviour requirements, including the<br />

approved sanctions of the <strong>School</strong>;<br />

f) supporting my/our child in doing homework and private study;<br />

g) reading and signing the planner weekly, and reports when received;<br />

h) doing my/our best to attend parents’ evenings and other meetings about my/our child’s<br />

education and progress;<br />

i) making every effort to stay informed about the <strong>School</strong>.<br />

If students, parents and school all work together on these common goals, then school days will be<br />

happy, positive and successful.<br />
