New Administrators Slated for 2013-14 School Year
Recently, the Crandall ISD Board of Trustees approved the following personnel for administrative positions:
David Williams
High School
Principal
Amy Teague
Middle School
David Christensen
Martin Elementary
Principal
Mr. David Williams currently serves Crandall ISD as the middle school principal. Mr. Williams
came last year to Crandall ISD from Highland Park ISD where he served as High School
Assistant Principal for eight years. Prior to his employment with Highland Park, he was an
assistant principal at Westwood High School in Round Rock ISD and a social studies teacher at
Anderson High School in Austin ISD. Mr. Williams also served from 1987 until 1992 as a
Firefighter in the United States Air Force. He earned his Bachelor’s degree with a double major
in government and history from the University of Texas at Austin and his Masters’ degree
from Southwest Texas State University in Educational Administration in 2001. In the application
process, Mr. Williams emphasized the importance of communicating effectively with the
high school teachers as well as building relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
Mr. Williams will finish the school year in his role as middle school principal at Crandall Middle
School, however, he will begin planning for the upcoming school year and will be meeting
with high school staff as needed the remainder of this school year.
After developing many wonderful relationships with students, parents, and staff at the middle
school, Mr. Williams’ move to the high school as principal is bittersweet. However, he is truly
excited about fulfilling his life-long dream of becoming a high school principal and feels honored
to serve the students, parents, and staff of Crandall High School.
Ms. Amy Teague comes to Crandall Middle School from Mabank ISD where she currently
serves as Assistant Principal at Mabank Junior High. Her experience at the middle school level
includes Assistant Principal and Middle School Counselor. At the elementary level, Amy has
served as an assistant principal, an instructional facilitator, and a classroom teacher. Amy possesses
a strong work ethic and broad range of experience including campus testing coordinator,
development of district-wide common assessments, district vertical alignment, assessment data
management, instructional coaching and modeling, and implementation of research based intervention
strategies. Ms. Teague earned her Bachelors of Science degree in education and her
Master’s degree in school counseling from Texas A&M at Commerce. The Crandall Independent
School District is pleased to welcome Ms. Amy Teague to our school district.
experience includes teaching reading, math, and science at the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade levels.
Mr. Christensen has also served in a variety of leadership positions including UIL Coordinator,
Math Department Chair, Grade Level Chair, Math Olympiad Coordinator, Fall Family
Fun Night Coordinator, Math Counts Coach, and Student Council Sponsor. David has also
served on numerous committees including the Math Vertical Teaming Committee, the Instruction
Mr. Christensen earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Kansas State University and
his master’s degree in educational administration from Texas A & M University in College
